Eye opening view into the evangelical world

After listening to this, I better understand the evangelical attitude towards politics, even while I strongly reject that attitude. Anyone who wants to understand the divisions in U.S. politics today would do well to listen to this. The author does a fine job of narrating.

I loved everything about this. If you’re a Paul Simon fan, if you’re interested in the creative process or how the creative mind works, this book is for you. I will listen to it more than once.

Great King characters as always

Like with so many of his other books, Stephen King gives us characters that will linger with me for a long time. I can picture wondering years from now what became of Abra. Only gripe was Will Patton’s narration - occasionally one character’s voice slipped into another’s, so I was momentarily confused as to who was speaking. Otherwise, very enjoyable book.

My favorite audiobook so far this year

As someone who was in his teens and 20's during the 70's and 80's, this book was a real treat for me. I loved the pop culture references and the puzzles. Wil Wheaton's narration was awesome. Highly recommend this book. I'll listen to it again at some point.

Funny, Suspenseful and Supernatural, All in One

Would you listen to Exorcising Aaron Nguyen again? Why?

I loved this story. Georgia (the narrator) has a distinctive voice that sounds very realistic for a high school girl, and Hiroki, the clueless guy she's in love with, was all too real. It's also a combined mystery and supernatural story, both of which I love. On top of that, it's just plain funny! The author has a wicked sense of humor.

What did you like best about this story?

I think the Georgia's humor is the thing I like best about this book. There are dozens of funny lines. I would listen again just for those.

Which character – as performed by Lauren Harris – was your favorite?

It's a tie between Georgia and The Bishop. The performance of Georgia has the right balance of humor and teenage sensitivity. The Bishop, who the author performs with a deeper, flatter voice, starts off as a pompous teenage jerk but evolves into someone more complex.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The story's climax, where the conflict with Aaron Nguyen's ghost is resolved, was the most affecting. Georgia is not joking around here - she and Hiroki are trying to help a classmate in pain. The author knows when humor is called for and when it's not.
