Historia
Defense attorney Mickey Haller is back, taking the long shot cases, where the chances of winning are one in a million. He agrees to represent a woman in prison for killing her husband, a sheriff’s deputy. Despite her conviction four years earlier, she still maintains her innocence. Haller enlists his half brother, retired LAPD Detective Harry Bosch, as investigator. Reviewing the case, Bosch sees something that doesn’t add up, and a sheriff’s department intent on bringing a quick search for justice in the killing of one of its own.

The rapport between Bosch and his half brother. Just when you think you know the outcome you get a curve ball to the contrary.

The narrators were great with perfect hesitations and emphasis where needed. You can picture the scene as it’s being told.

Historia
On Winston Churchill’s first day as prime minister, Hitler invaded Holland and Belgium. Poland and Czechoslovakia had already fallen, and the Dunkirk evacuation was just two weeks away. For the next 12 months, the Nazis would wage a relentless bombing campaign, killing 45,000 Britons and destroying two million homes. In The Splendid and the Vile, Erik Larson gives a new and brilliantly cinematic account of how Britain’s most iconic leader set about unifying the nation at its most vulnerable moment, and teaching ‘the art of being fearless’.

Historia
Just when you thought that it was safe to start showing off again, John Lloyd and John Mitchinson are back with another busload of mistakes and misunderstandings. Here is a new collection of simple, perfectly obvious questions you'll be quite certain you know the answers to. Whether it's history, science, sports, geography, literature, language, medicine, the classics, or common wisdom, you'll be astonished to discover that everything you thought you knew is still hopelessly wrong.

Excellent time killer!
Revisado: 02-26-22
Have you ever been dragged to the Mall with your party to shop? Then this excellent collection by the Elves makes 1 hour seem like 10 minutes!
My only 2 criticism’s are I wish it was longer as I didn’t want it to end and at an average of 3 minutes a chapter it was difficult to use “end of chapter“ feature on my timer.
I am confident that the Third book in this series will not disappoint.

Historia
Harry Bosch finds himself yet again in charge of a case that no one else will touch. This time his job is to nail the killer of hot shot black lawyer Howard Elias. Elias has been found murdered on the eve of going to court on behalf of Michael Harris, a man the LAPD believes guilty of the rape and murder of a twelve-year-old girl. Elias had let it be known that the aim of his civil case was not only to reveal the real killer but to target and bring down the racist cops who beat up his client during a violent interrogation.

Good story ... Bad narration

I enjoyed the story but not enjoy the narration. It lacked emotion and all characters sounded similar.

A Great and riviting read. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Revisado: 04-23-12
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Gripping read with many twists and turns
What did you like best about this story?
The ending was well thought out and cunningly declared
What does Ron McLarty bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
His ability to adopt a plethora of accents for each character which puts you right in the middle of the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No extreme reaction but it does make one think of what could go on behind closed doors. What Politicians will do to achieve the power they all seem to crave.
Any additional comments?
I always enjoy a book that has both a male and female narrator. It makes interaction between a man and a woman much easier and more interesting to follow. The more the narrators ... the better.
