Historia
The drow city of Menzoberranzan has fallen into discontent, sowed by the growing legend of the one who escaped: Drizzt Do’Urden. Now many of the drow—including the city’s most powerful house, led by the Matron Mother—are questioning the influence of the Spider Queen and the very history of the city’s founding. What secrets lie ahead? The drow are determined to find out, and they’ll stop at nothing to dismantle the very structure they’ve called home.

Love the books...but the delivery lacked
Revisado: 05-18-24
so, love all the Drizzt books a LOT.
but this one....the narration was, choppy. odd pauses at spots that really threw off the cadence of the story.
Like extra long pauses at what I assume was a comma, and then quickly moving from an end of the sentence to a new chapter.
it was definitely made it hard to follow sometimes.
don't know if Victor was having an off time or is someones editing was way off.
still, great story

G9od start...looking forward to where it goes
Revisado: 03-28-23
I love Arcane Ascension. While this is set in the same world, I didn't get enough clues about when it falls with other books.
It could be a 100yrs forward or back. I will maybe go through it again, as I'm sure I missed something.
Or, since there are two authors, which is why there were two voice performances, perhaps this is a handoff to a new series.
Lots of questions to discover answers too!!!
The performance was good, bit the changing voices did throw me off a little. Looking back, if it was one performance per writter, I didn't notice that much of a difference. So good there!
I am looking forward to knowing more about the crystal and if it will ever tie into events of Arcane Ascension.

She got spellfire, and now she's fleeing for her life across Faern, searching for somewhere to hide. More evil wizards, warriors, and priests than she can count are trying to get it from her, and they'll kill or enslave her without hesitation. Her last, desperate hope is to take refuge in the sheltered city of Silverymoon. If she makes it that far.

Good story, questionable reading
Revisado: 10-06-22
Loved the story. Cronin was good at voices, but I question his reading. There were times that I would have love to see the punctuation, as his delivery didn't sound right many times.

Historia
Golan Trevize, former councilman of the First Foundation, has chosen the future, and it is Gaia. A superorganism, Gaia is a holistic planet with a common consciousness so intensely united that every dewdrop, every pebble, every being, can speak for all - and feel for all. It is a realm in which privacy is not only undesirable, it is incomprehensible. But is it the right choice for the destiny of mankind? While Trevize feels it is, that is not enough. He must know.

loved the story, hard to listen to though
Revisado: 07-28-21
It was tough to get past the narration. Very halting and did not flow well at all. Almost like he was reading it for the very first time with no prep.

Historia
Maintaining stability in a city full of pirates is a delicate balancing act, particularly when one is motivated by making sure the common folk are taken care of instead of simple personal greed. Jarlaxle and his band of rogues known as Bregan D'aerthe are doing their best, stabilizing the city after warding off a terrible attack by demonic and gnoll forces. But now three merchant ships have been destroyed and sent to the ocean floor - obliterated in such a quick and brutal manner that it makes little sense it’s pirates seeking plunder.

good, but different
Revisado: 06-25-21
It was Salvatire and Bevine...but not really?
Everything felt rushed. The story was good, but the dialogue didn't feel natural between all the characters and their behaviors were...off.
Be one...didn't sound like Bevine. It was read, that's about it. Regina didn't sound like Regis, Jarlaxal and other neither. doesn't feel like much effort was put into the performance.
