Bob Woodward writes another Presidential scandal,, still in the making. One would've thought Watergate would be the biggest we would ever and hope to experience. But as bad as Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein exposed about the late former President Nixon and Watergate, one can say at least Richard Nixon was a competent leader. President Trump as Bob Woodward penned based on interviews he conducted. is anything but competent. We need to thank Bob Woodward for detailing an administration fraught with scandal after scandal, grossly incompetent, bigoted, insensitive and what will go down in history as the worst administration, ever. And the story isn't over. Heaven help us.

More great Dan Brown, maybe not as great as others, but a must read

Total
4 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 10-17-18

Origin piqued my interest by the subject of where do we come from and where are we headed. It didn't disappoint. Probably one of the most complex and heady Brown books since the DaVinci Code. I was impressed by the atheist views and fervent religious views coalesced to not offend either side. Well, it probably did. Just not myself. The science in this book was so engaging and complex, I often had to re-read parts to try and understand the theories of origin. I think from now on I'll leave science of the universe to Neil Degrasse-Tyson. This was also my first Fan Brown Audible book. I would've liked to read print for spelling of names and places. I did find a web site devoted to showing photos of the places. I'm my opinion, despite others reviews calling Origin same-old, same-old, I wouldn't accept less from Dan Brown. A must read.

Discovering Cheech and Chong in the early 70"s and having the pleasure of seeing them in concert 5 years or so ago, I had no idea they were as prolifically talented as both were. I was aware of Cheech's other roles after he went solo. My only problems were slipping forward and backward confusing me at times. Otherwise this was very interesting interesting, eye opening, touching, maddening and inspiring.

Hard to like

Going through financial woes myself, as many of us are, I just couldn't connect with disgruntled law students and a suspicious law school. Foggy Bottom Law School, really?! There students decide after researching the qualities of the school to ditch their last semester and practice law in their own. It doesn't take long before screw up after screw up n trying to practice without a license and seemingly little knowledge of the law, they find themselves hunted. What is so vexing is even after all the wrath of clients done wrong and lawsuit after lawsuit, they still can't realize the scope of trouble they're in. Meanwhile, the owner of the law school is as obnoxious and indifferent to the trouble he's in with suspicious and illegal finances. All ends not satisfactorily. Too homgenized.

Michael Wolff documents probably, no definitely the most chaotic and idiotic administration in U.S. history. I Wished this were just a crazy fiction but the craziness continues in sad reality.

Campfire Stories on Asphalt

Entertaining short stories told mostly by truckers. Some were good ghost stories, some familiar legends, some UFOs. Most provided some chills. Others had little point. Good fo for a quick listen.

A drudge and Warning for those offended by clubbing seals

Total
3 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 03-06-18

I expected a much more exciting tale of two ships crashing into The Auckland Islands in the 1850's unbeknownst to each other. While Joan Druett culls very detailed information about this event, too much minutea about their day to survival is told from motherhood survivors. And very depressing given the sailors or rather dealers were literally babes in arms given their lack of survival skills. I would listen to this in bed and guaranteed to fall asleep in fifteen minutes. Another caveat for prospective readers are the many, many detailed descriptions of clubbing sea lions from babies to elder magnificent creatures. I realize this practice was common and acceptable in 1853 but it's no less offensive to today's reader.

Lightweight mystery

Revisado: 12-31-17

I was a bit disappointed in that I was expecting more of a hardcore female detective proving herself. Instead, it was more romance with a lightweight mystery. It was an enjoyable quick read/ listen, just expecting more. I did have my interest piqued for the next installment.

A daughter's loving remembrance of an interesting man

Total
5 out of 5 stars

Revisado: 09-01-17

As a fan of Rod Serling, but not knowing that much about him, his daughter fills in the gaps between the public and private Rod Serling. I found her recollections framed a loving family man, brilliant writer and a man whom I shared similar political views. I was often grown tired of Ann Serling's maudlin, seemingly still grieving remembrance of her father. But then I realized how profoundly affected my family was at my own father's untimely death in 1986. I think often of him along with my late mother. So to fault her would be an insult to close families and other acquaintances. I will take away a lot from this Audible book and no doubt think of Rod Serling not only from his television, movie and written works but as a great, sometimes simple, but often complex man.
