Historia
In an increasingly fast-paced world, equally fast decision-making skills are seen as a strength. When we are constantly presented with so many options to choose from, a quick and dirty decision doesn't always seem like a bad thing. When it comes to things we don't like in friends, family, work, or relationships we are often fast to judge and label them as red flags. What we don't realise, however, is that this mindset is causing us to lose our ability to manage difficult situations.

Too "bad"
Revisado: 11-13-24
Maybe the author is following societies lead, but I'm headed in a different direction. A serious topic that was presented through too much crass language. It cheapened the entire presentation and made it difficult to take Mr. Fenwick seriously. Unfortunate. I didn't bother to finish listening.

repetitive
Revisado: 05-10-24
It was the same thing over and over. Could have been told in two to three chapters.
The narrators voice was very irritating. Sounded totally forced and pretentious.

In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

I gave up after four chapters. When the author himself speaks, he can't even keep his story straight. Nothing compelling about it.

The narrator's voice ruined it for me. Forcing the pronunciation of consonants sounded synthesized.

A Must Read
Revisado: 04-16-21
As a white middle-class American who grew up in the 60's and 70's I was as ignorant as any regarding the truths behind the continuing "slavery" that has--and continues--to shape our nation. The worst that occurred post-emancipation, I was taught in school, was the carpetbaggers and sharecropping. I accepted that as the gospel truth. A few years ago I asked myself the question: "Why are race relations still so bad this many years after the end of slavery? There must be something more at the root of this. That question led me to several books, one of which is, Slavery By Another Name.
I consider this book one of the top ten most important books I have ever read. (I have a copy of the book as well as the audible version. It is VERY worthwhile to experience the book BOTH ways).
In my journey of discovery, this book has opened my even further to the truth. And without the truth, how can we ever heal the wounds of this country that still lay open, waiting impatiently to be healed?

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.
