A perfect example of what progression fantasy should look like.
Excellent pacing keeping you hooked, a well defined system without to many details (and without the endless statsheets that make me lose interest in a story if I listen to it on audible).
The main character is clever and interesting, the supporting cast have acual personalities and the world really draws you in.
Most of all, I found the progression to be very satisfying, proving to me that you don't need to build some overcomplicated system to create depth.

I can't wait for the next book!

Another fantastic entry in this gem of a series!

Honestly, the sheer scope of this story is maybe what I love most. I see people complaining about the fact that the action still takes place on earth, but it's obvious that the author has a vision for the future of this story, where Zac inevitably starts exploring the multiverse.
To me, it just means that he's stretching out the story. That might be an issue with some authors, as they might be to slow or just drop the project, but JF Brink is pumping out chapters on a weekly schedule, while still coming across as quite passionate about his project...to my mind, he's just prolonging and fleshing out this epic tale!

To both the author an narrator: Keep it up, you rock!

Excellent new title in progression fantasy

While the book may be a bit slow at times, it's extremely well written. The performance was absolutely stellar.

I highly recommend giving it a try!

Not written with an audiobook in mind

To many statshiets. It's ome thing to do it for the MC, but doing it for sidecharacters makes it get quite annoying.

The best one in the series!

EDIT: I recently read through reviews, and I'm sure you've seen a bunch of angry americans feeling offended about the couple of jokes at their expense...I therefore encourage you to read the audible.uk/au reviews instead of those on audible.us if you want less biased opinions on the quality of the actual content.
My personal opinion is that these complaints are extremely exaggerated!

I'll keep it short: This has easily been the best one so far in my opinion.

The worst part of this series in audio format have always been the endless status screen read outs and you'll be happy to hear that this book contains essentially none of them!

The story was hilarious, captivating and cleverly written, and I've listened to it in what were essentially two separate 10 hour sessions with some sleep in between...that's how good it was.

Now since you've already listened to three of these, stop reading reviews and go enjoy the one that has everything you loved and none of what you hated!

Brilliant take on this genre!

Original and entertaining; I highly recommend this book.

With a captivating plot, entertaining characters, creative abilities and a protagonist that would usually be considered a villain if the perspective was different, this series has the potential of becoming a top tier litRPG!

Some negative reviews simply unjust

I would like to briefly adress an issue I had with several negative review, regarding the sexist attitude of the protagonist, but which often ended up describing the author and his style as sexist.

I do not know much about the author and about his beliefs, but one thing I do now is that in a phantasy book with the protagonist's point of view, his thoughts align with the personality/experiences of the PROTAGNIST, NOT the AUTHOR. Therefore yes, he might have had some thoughts that you found offensive but they are those of a fictive character and not a real person.
Some book tell the story of an "evil" character, does that makes the author evil? Of course it doesn't!

To conclude, I'll say that while I didn't find this book outstanding, I still found it amusing and enticing, and I did appreciate the humor build into it. What made it particularly interesting was the masterfull narration which was very impressing and had me immersed very quickly.

I would recommend this book and also that you look a what negative comments say before letting them ruin your opinion of the book. Most issues concerning sexism are oftentimes exagerated, while other commenters make constructive critisism of what they did not apreciated in terms of writing style, making some valid points.
