I have to start by writing that Julia Whelan is one of my favorite audible narrators. When I'm not sure what to read, I often search for her name and see if she's narrated anything new. This is how I found My Oxford Life. I really liked everything about this book - it's smart, funny, and sweet. The setting, the back stories, the additional characters were memorable. I especially liked the main characters. They were sexy, interesting and had depth. I got absorbed in the story from start to finish. It took me about 3 days to listen to it and I was sad when it ended. I hope Julia Whelan writes more.

I really liked this book, so much that I lost sleep. The characters are fleshed out, the story is exciting, and the longing between these two never quits. It's a fast paced book and a great absorbing read. I was looking for something on the lighter side and this fit the bill! Best of all - it was on sale. Recommend!

It's been a long while since i've found a book on audible that I couldn't put down. This is that book. Joe Goldberg is obsessed with Beck's - absolutely, certifiably obsessed with Beck's. This is a fast paced erotic thriller. Santino Fontana narrates this story to perfection. I couldn't imagine a better voice. He brings Joe's longing, anxiety, sexual frustration and his desire to possess to life. This story is told entirely from Joe's perspective. Joe is a stalker and he is dangerous and sexy. I lost sleep and to my chagrin, I was seduced by Joe, a psychopath and madman. I think this is the best story I've heard in years. 5 stars all around.

Would you listen to The Deal again? Why?

yes absolutely, this story had substance. It was more than just your typical romance dealing with some pedestrian drama. This story delved into Hannah's past and her struggles and really took something traumatic and gave the reader perspective. Her character grows and becomes stronger throughout the course of the story. I think it was a fantastic listen and it was way more than I expected.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hannah - she is smart, independent and strong. She allows herself to be seen, to be vulnerable and put her trust into the hands of someone she initially hated.

Which character – as performed by Lorelei Avalon – was your favorite?

I have to admit not loving the narration. It wasn't unlistenable by any means but it just didn't add to the audio. The story is strong enough and has enough hooks in place to keep you thoroughly engaged. Had the narrator been stronger this would audio would have blown it out of the park.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Garrett turns from annoying hockey bro to mildly entertaining guy. When Garrett turns from mildly entertaining guy to friend. When Garrett turns from friend to loyal trusted guard and confident. When Garret turns down all others for Hannah and she's totally oblivious to his puppy dog crush. His character when from annoying cocky frat bro TO sweet, concerned, loving and honest friend.

Any additional comments?

This was a nice surprise and I highly recommend. The story is funny and entertaining, and HOT, and deep. It's a slow burn kind of romance (my fav) cause when they finally come together the spark is intense.

Where does Sincerely, Carter rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

for the rom-com reader, this is a good find. and if you like slow burn type listens, then this is a slow burn with some hot scenes. Carter and Arizona's (Ari for short) relationship is centered in being best friends since the 4th or 5th grade (an ongoing debate in their dialogue). They share everything with each other, talk everyday, and spend copious amounts of time together so it's only inevitable that these two characters eventually hook up. Of course this book is a hyper exaggeration of friends hooking up and everything working out. The story is set up so that the stars are aligned , well mostly aligned, so all ends well for these two! But that's why I liked this book. I want a feel good story with a happy ending. God only knows that when I hooked up with my very good friend many many moons ago, things didn't end great and I don't think they do for most. Oh, I digress. Feel good book. Yes, a fun listen and I enjoyed it very much!

Have you listened to any of Joseph Discher and Jennifer O'Donnell ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first time listening to these narrators and they did an excellent job.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, absolutely! I loved their friendship and how it changed over the course of one summer. The dialogue highlighted the comfort they had with each other while navigating sexual feelings, new emotions and uncertainty about their friendship. There was a lot of denial for these two even though they clearly had feeling for each other for a very long time.

Any additional comments?

I liked this book! It has it all - a solid friendship, sexual tension, good sex scenes all wrapped up in a fun sweet story!

What did you love best about The Skeleton in the Closet?

The first thing that came to mind was the Stookie Stackhouse series by Charlene Harris. If you enjoyed Sookie's crazy tales then you'll like this series. It's similar yet different enough to keep you entertained!

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I love her gangster ghost Frankie. He allows her see what other ghosts see, and becomes her friend and guide. Even though he's sort of stuck with her and doesn't have much of a choice but to hang with her. I like that their situation turns into a light friendship.

What does Tavia Gilbert bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

oh she's great. her voice is perfect for this character!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no, not extreme but I am enjoying the book. it's fun and entertaining and i am plan to listen to the the remainder of the series at this point. that says something right? I've listened to 2 audios in less than 1 week.

Any additional comments?

if you liked the sookie stackhouse series then i think you'll like this book. There is a tiny bit of romance and the set up is really good. The main character Verity and her former fiancés brother Ellis have potential. There are enough kisses and lingering moments to know it's only going to get better. Add their tension to the mix of drama: Ellis' brother, mother, his family legacy and Verity skunk pet and you have a very fun story. Enjoy!

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

the main character was a pain in the ass. I enjoyed the anthropological musings - honestly that was the best part of this book. The worst part was hearing about the author's disdain of a culture she actually wanted to be part of and secretly embraced. she was a fan on park avenue snobbery and had she just owned it, I would have enjoyed this audio more. instead it was following the story of a complainer who just wanted to be at the top of the pecking order. it got old and I was annoyed that she justified all her angst and eventual acceptance behind theoretical jargon. just own it and don't waste my time on needing a birkin bag to keep up with the jones.

Has Primates of Park Avenue turned you off from other books in this genre?

yes absolutely. there was very little humor in this book. the author took herself way to serious.

Any additional comments?

not worth a credit - watch odd mom out instead. it's funny and makes fun of this "lifestyle"

What made the experience of listening to Enchantment the most enjoyable?

Stefan Rudnicki did a great job narrating this imaginative and creative take on sleeping beauty. This story had it all- it's a story of magic, love, good vs. evil and destiny. I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. It took me about 2 hours to get totally and completely sucked in!

Would you consider the audio edition of Rule to be better than the print version?

I've flown through most of this series in the last 2 weeks, and I highly recommend. I'm on Rowdy (book 5) and the Marked Men series is yummy, interesting, addicting and hot!

My friend at work recommended this series and I'm so glad she did. Each book walks us through the story of a different tattoo artist (with the exception of book 2 where Jet is a local rock star) in Denver, Colorado. The characters are all well developed, and likable.

What did you like best about this story?

What I like most about the story is that each new audiobook builds on the last, so now that I've begun listening to book 5, I have gotten to know this gang of cool artists living life and loving hard in the Rocky Mountains.

Have you listened to any of Sophie Eastlake and Michael Rahhal ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time I've heard them and they do a great job!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, absolutely. And I have lost some major sleep listening to this series.

Any additional comments?

If you like book 1, then just purchase the whole series. It's one continuous good story!
