Historia
Colin Dexter’s Chief Inspector Morse - the cranky, heavy-drinking, and exasperatingly brilliant sleuth of the Thames Valley Police - has become one of the most beloved detectives in fiction. Now, with this collection of 11 short stories, we can savor choice examples of his dry wit, devious cunning, and psychological insight at its best. Colin Dexter tantalizes us with six Inspector Morse adventures, ranging from bite-size morsels of intrigue to longer stories for listeners to sink their teeth into.

Another narrator please!
Revisado: 02-13-21
I love Morse stories on tv so when I found the books i was thrilled but couldn’t listen much, I found the narrator unbearable, it’s so sad I will not be able to listen to any of Morse’s adventures with that narrator

Historia
Terry McCaleb's enforced quiet lifestyle on the island of Catalina is a far cry from the hectic excitement of his former role as an FBI profiler. However when small-time criminal Edward Gunn is found dead, McCaleb becomes embroiled in a disturbing and complex case leading him to cross the path of Harry Bosch. This infamous detective has always teetered on the brink of darkness in order to get inside the head of the killer. Is it possible he has stepped across that finely drawn line and embraced darkness?

Not really a Bosch story
Revisado: 08-26-19
It really is a McCalab story featuring Harry Bosch, but enjoyable and with some action; the solution came too quickly to what I’m used to with Harry Bosch, not very complicated

Birds and lists
Revisado: 06-16-17
I love birding, I discovered this activity a year ago so I thought this book would be fun or interesting but neither, it is very boring; too many lists, as if to fill space and pseudo intellectual references.

The never-before-told full story of the history-changing break-in at the FBI office in Media, Pennsylvania, by a group of unlikely activists - quiet, ordinary, hardworking Americans - that made clear the shocking truth and confirmed what some had long suspected, that J. Edgar Hoover had created and was operating, in violation of the U.S. Constitution, his own shadow Bureau of Investigation.

Interesting topic poorly written
Revisado: 12-15-15
When I read the summary I wanted to listen right away but despite a promising topic, the way it is written and the information chosen was very disappointing; boring at times, I even stopped listening, read another book and then returned not to leave unfinished.

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says ( Publishers Weekly).

It moves so slow!!!!
Revisado: 10-13-13
Would you try another book from George R. R. Martin and/or Roy Dotrice?
I would like to find out what happens to the main characters of the series but if it continues to drag the way it does maybe I will only read the summaries in wikipedia; Roy Dotrice has not been to my liking since the first book, but I found the story interesting so I kept going, but his last deliver it's the worst of the four books I have listened to, I decided to skip book 4 due to the reviews of other members and glad I did, because I agree with their opinion for this book.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I wish the story would move, so much description of dressses or food but no action.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Roy Dotrice?
Simon Vance
Do you think A Dance with Dragons needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
The women's voices are horrible, specially Deanerys sounds like a low born old woman nothing to do with "the most beautiful" queen in the whole world.
Any additional comments?
This book did need a lot of editing or maybe an abridge version would be much better avoiding needless descriptions or taking so much time introducing a new minor character instead of giving more time to the main characters, I want more of Jamie, Arya, only Jon and Tyrion get somewhere and Daenerys was such a smash in the previous books and now just sits and makes terrible decisions, a bit disappointing.

I loved The Strain, I listened to it several times, so I was waiting for this realease; I liked a lot but I still prefer the first book, I'm looking forward for the third installment and find out how Dr. Goodweather copes with the challenge.
I miss Ron Perlman,a work by Del Toro is not complete without him.
