Historia
There is an appetite for God. And it can be awakened. I invite you to turn from the dulling effects of food and the dangers of idolatry, and to say with some simple fast: "This much, O God, I want you."Our appetites dictate the direction of our lives - whether it be the cravings of our stomachs, the passionate desire for possessions or power, or the longings of our spirits for God.

Didn't care for voice of narrator
Revisado: 07-22-21
The content of the book was good. But the style of the narrator was so annoying it was hard for me to finish it. I had to start the book over multiple times in places because I longed to tune out quality of the voice.

Historia
When you’re in the midst of suffering, you want answers for the unanswerable, resolutions to the unresolvable. But there is a pathway through this suffering. It’s not easy, but God will use it to lead you toward healing. This path is called lament. In the midst of your darkest times, you will discover that lament leads you back to a place of hope - not because lamenting does anything magical, but because God sings a louder song than suffering ever could, a song of renewal and restoration.

You will grow up a little in this book

I came to this book to study for a lesson I was teaching on hope & hopelessness. I left having been taught many lessons I didn't even know I needed, through this book. The author shares from deep pain, what you can only come to understand when you are in such a place of mourning. It was an honor to have been invited in, and I am so grateful.
