Court escapes with his life and a vital piece of intelligence. Meanwhile, CIA agent Zoya Zakharova is in Berlin. Her mission: to infiltrate a private intelligence firm with some alarming connections. Devil is in the details
Revisado: 03-02-21
A writer that goes into much detail about firearm models and calibers should know that one never "Pushes" a trigger. Small arms require a trigger PULL and not a PUSH . It's not until one gets into larger fixed weapons that a trigger Push fires the weapon. i.e. M2 or MK19. It's the little things that made me cringe.

Historia
Robert McCall is a former covert operations officer for the CIA who tries to atone for past sins by offering, free of charge, his services as a protector, an investigator, and a troubleshooter—often literally. Aided by a group of sometimes-mysterious contacts, some of whom date back to his spying days, McCall traverses the streets of New York City, visiting justice upon those who prey upon the weak. A woman finds herself the target of a Chechen nightclub owner. The club is actually a front for an elite assassination service—run by an old enemy of McCall’s.

We are experiencing Technical Difficulties
Revisado: 07-28-18
I've always enjoyed watching the old Equalizer TV show, and the newer movie with Danzel Washington, so I thought, what the heck, I'll try the audio book. Overall I enjoyed the book, but found it hard to get past all the technical mistakes. It's like someone trying to do Tom Clancy without firearms knowledge.
Here is my list of grips:
1) S&W .500 / 500 the revolver Model number. It fires a .50 Caliber Magnum round, not a 500 Caliber.
2) Walter PPK is chambered in.380 ACP and not 9mm. Never did understand why James Bond would carry a .380.....
3) The M-16 is a MAGAZINE Fed Rifle. It does not, and never has utilized a Stripper Clip, or Clip of any sort.
4) Cordite production ended in 1944. The last country the mass produced it was the UK. So unless the bad guys were shooting really old surplus ammo, their shots would not fill the air with the smell of Cordite.
5) Arabica beans make up most coffee drank in the USA. There are also some that enjoy Robusta Beans, but neither is referred to as "Arabic Coffee". Arabica is the coffee bean species.
6) Beretta makes a M-9 (Military Version) and a 92 FS (Civilian), and even 92 A1, but I very never heard of an M-92. Maybe it's what you get when you mix parts from the Military version with the Civilian. Unless you are referring to the M92A1 BB gun ;-)
7) Candy Annie? What a totally unrealistic character. Beautiful, Clean, lives in a filthy dark, abandoned train tunnel. Poor thing must have 50 cavities in her teeth, and diabetes in addition to her social anxiety.
May I suggest a proof reader that knows about guns and coffee?

Historia
Amos Decker's life changed forever - twice. The first time was on the gridiron. A big, towering athlete, he was the only person from his hometown of Burlington ever to go pro. But his career ended before it had a chance to begin. On his very first play, a violent helmet-to-helmet collision knocked him off the field for good and left him with an improbable side effect - he can never forget anything.

Historia
With all of the recent emphasis on "big data", analytics and visualization, and emerging technology architectures such as smartphone networks, social media, and cloud computing, the way we do business is undergoing rapid change. The right business model can create overnight sensations - think of Groupon, the iPad, or Facebook. At the same time, alternative models for organizing resources such as home schooling, Linux, or Kenya's Ushihidi tool transcend conventional business designs.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Today, the IT world changes at the speed of light. Today's headlines are obsolete by the weekend. Books are usually stale by the time they hit the shelves of a bookstore.
As an IT Professions on the cutting edge of the industry, I hear about many new services and technologies long before they become public. So I personally found the book as a recap of what has happened in the industry over the past 8 years..
Someone that is not in the IT industry may still find this informative useful, but I would not recommend it to anyone to anyone already in the IT field. You'll be reading about the work the work that the guy you replaced 2 years ago did before he was outsourced.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I found it a bit dated.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narrator was fine
What did you take away from Information, Technology, and Innovation that you can apply to your work?
Nothing. The information presented is common knowledge in the IT industry. It's on the edge of becoming old news.
Any additional comments?
Book is geared toward someone that is not currently involved with the IT industry. By the time something gets printed on paper and is put on a bookshelf for sale, it will be yesterday's news.

Devil in the Details
Revisado: 04-01-15
Writers should avoid using detailed weapon description they are not familiar with. K-bar combat knives have stacked leather handles, not Wooden. I can see how someone that never held one might think it's made of wood. Cheapens the story for me..

Historia
From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

I had listened to this audio book long before the movie. I decided to go back and hear it again to see how close the movie was. I still enjoy the audio book version more than the big screen.
