Is this the last Torus Book?

I’ll be so sad if this is the last Torus book.

I have loved this series but this one was different from the first four books - more intrigue and background on the country, the bad guys and infrastructure.

I read this book first knowing I would purchase the audiobook as soon as it came out but I found it heavy with details so I couldn’t read it right before I went to bed since I needed to track the story - with the audiobook it was easier to follow but I must admit I couldn’t multitask while listening. Heavier story than the other Torus stories.

That being said - loved the characters and final resolution to their angst/tension.

Still Love ❤️ These Guys!

You would think after 10 books it would be more of the same...not at all. I love the fact I sometimes need to go back and hear a scene over again because the next seen referred to something unexpected.

The characters are getting more interesting and the relationship....well let’s just say I don’t want the throttle their necks like I did when I first “met” them!

And Hazard’s relationship with Evie (his step daughter) makes me smile every time! Let alone the relationship with Evie’s father!

I know there are more books in the series but that doesn’t make me want to get to the end...it makes me enjoy the ride!

I love when characters continue throughout the series or even in this case a spinoff series and you still care what they’re doing both at home and at work.

So knowing that this is a new series but with “old” characters I was thrilled to dive in it and a bit exhausted to complete the book due to the roller coaster of the mystery and the angst and tension of the couple.

Gregory Ashe is an author that I check to see if a new audible book is out (Love Tristan James narration) thus rising in the ranks as authors such as Mary Calmes, Josh Lanyon and Rhys Ford.

I think it’s helpful (as well as enjoyable) to listen/read the first Hazard and Somers first series (Borealis investigations) before listening to this new series.

Slow Burn . . . so worth it!

Some listeners are put off by the slow burn that Shaw and North have going on throughout this book...typically I would be the same...cut to the chase...get on with it...but what I like was that their relationship wasn't filled with angst and longing (ok a bit of that) but really mutual respect...

Not going to tell you how that ends up...no spoilers here...but I will say that the length of the book scared me a bit (would it drag on) BUT it didn't... the story moved along (quicker than their relationship...lol).

I was given a copy of this book to review but it was on my list to purchase anyway...since I purchased the Audible the first Borealis Investigations Book and will also listen to the third one.

Shaw and North are moving up the ladder of favorite MM series...

Charles David did an excellent job especially with Shaw and North's "back and forth" I laughed out loud more than a few times!

A spin off more than part of series

Aaron and Duncan's story was great but only references to Sam and Jory

Tristan did a great job narrating BUT his pronunciation of Jory changed to Yory for part of book with even Aaron's character making that mistake

My ocd caused me to not finish book first time. But second time I realized he corrected himself in last part of book
