Narration was so boring
Revisado: 01-26-13
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The story I would recommend, but just not in the audio format. The narrator almost put me to sleep.
If you’ve listened to books by Suzanne Brockmann before, how does this one compare?
Yes, the narrator was a different narrator and they put the book alive.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lauren Fortgang’s performances?
No way

Historia
Carlin Reed lives in fear, off the grid, moving from place to place. So Battle Ridge, Wyoming, a small town in the middle of nowhere, seems like a good place to lie low for a while. But after becoming cook and housekeeper to cattle rancher Zeke Decker, Carlin suspects that she’s made her first mistake. Rugged, sexy, and too distracting for his own good, Zeke is pure temptation mixed with something deep and primal that makes Carlin feel almost safe. Soon things are getting way too hot in the kitchen.

The Narration was really bad
Revisado: 11-14-11
I am so glad that Audible put a rating for performance, because in the old rating system I would have had to give the entire story as one star.
This book is supposed to be an Action/Adventure a sort of Indiana Jones adventure, but the narrator was so boring that I thought he was reading a Jane Austin book. I almost didn't finish it. If you are interested in this book I would suggest reading it.

Historia
A novel that tackles the question: Do I truly do the Jesus thing – or do I stay safe? In obedience to a divine Nudge, 47-year-old Allison Chamberlain buys a Harley and waits for further instructions. Those instructions turn her into a reluctant prophet who points out the narrow fears of her church group and take her into the darkest parts of her city.

Very Good Christian Fiction
Revisado: 07-26-11
Allison went from being a rich teen to out of work forty something. When God tells her to buy a Harley she has no way of paying for it, but somehow God provides the money. She goes from being what her church wants her to be to an outcast because she reaches beyond their comfort zone. It makes you want to ask yourself which Christian will you be?
Of all the characters we meet I loved the teenage boy Desmond the best, the reader brings his character to life in such a way it's both humerous and real.
I understand there is a second book and I can't wait to either read or listen to it.

Historia
Bravery. Honor. Sacrifice. These are more than mere words to trained Marine sniper Nathan McBride. He’s never backed away from danger and he’s not about to start now, even if it means confronting the cold-blooded interrogator who tortured him to the brink of death more than a decade ago.

Amazing Thrill Ride
Revisado: 05-05-11
This book gave insight on how Nathan became the man he is today. You also saw the scarier side of Nathan, it showed that you couldn't go through what he did and not be damaged. There was a point in the book where Nathan had a huge decision to make, in my opinion any decision he made would have been the right one. Did he make the right decision? I think he did what was right for him. The only thing I was kind of disappointed in is that I feel there is still more that needs to be worked out emotionally with his father. Maybe next book he can deal with the unresolved issues with his father. I'm glad that I have this book in my library.

Too many sub plots and narrator got on my nerves
Revisado: 02-20-11
There were too many plots going on in this book for me. I don't want to give any storyline away, but this novel had a war, an outbreak, multiple assassination plotted/attempts, etc, etc, etc. The narrator spoke in a very monotone voice and the book was difficult to get into because of the plot line and the narrator. And simply put this book was too long. If you really want to enjoy the book, I would read it in print. I do still love Jack Ryan though.

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

I don't usually post reviews...
Revisado: 11-18-10
This book has action, adventure, some sadistic, and a little comic. So, if you want a book that has it all, this is your book. As with most books this author left the story open for a sequel, but as far as I can tell he has not written anything since. And that disappoints me. I also love the narrator, it made this book even more interesting.

Four Novels. Two Worlds. One Story. As foretold by ancient prophets, an apocalypse destroyed Earth during the 21st century. But 2,000 years later, Elyon set upon the earth a new Adam. This time, however, He gave humanity an advantage. What was once unseen became seen. It was good and it was called...Green.

Somewhat disappointed
Revisado: 01-16-10
At times this book was very intense which is very Ted Dekker. Then on the flip side he confused my that is not the normal standard of Ted Dekker.
Although this book answered many questions it left more questions than answers. Like what happened to Janae, and what about Monique?
There was not too much interaction with Thomas and his family, in fact this book really didn't have too much of Thomas in it.
This book has a bit of vampires in it. I don't know if Ted was trying to profit off the whole Twilight theme. I just didn't get it.
I would have really given this book 2.5 stars because I thought it was deserving of better than two stars but not quite three stars.

Good concept but it was boring in places
Revisado: 01-06-10
This was a good concept for a book but at times I found there was too much of a good subject matter and plus I really didn't see that much interaction with the described main characters.

In my opinion this was not James Scott Bells best book but it was okay. I would rather buy Try Dying, Try Fear on audiobooks, now those are books worth listening to over and over.
