Better than the movie

The story is simple, but since I saw the movie many years ago, it came to life for me as I envisioned the actors and actresses as I read. The narrator was right on target and captured each character perfectly. Even though I knew the basic plot line, it still had me on the edge of my seat as the final decision had to be made! Seeing the movie again after reading the book, I can only say, "The book is awesome and way better!" So much so, that I am now reading Something Blue to get the other side of the story.

Don't waste your time or money

I love reading Jodi Picoult's books and have now grown to love listening to them with my first three purchases - House Rules, Salem Falls, and Plain Truth. But, this one really doesn't cut it. I found myself disgusted with the behavior of the police chief and the florist's assistant. It didn't make sense at all! Even with that said, the book was long, drawn out, and predictable. The whole thing seemed like a poorly written Harlequin novel! I wish I would have used the credit for another one of her works like the Pact.

One of the best First Chapters ever!!!

I am all for free books and chapters so I have downloaded them all since I've become a member. I have got to say this is definitely one of the best I have listened to!! It really kept my attention and even though it starts out with some tough issues, they are handled extremely well. The narrator is right on with the character he is portraying - the accent is great and the animation / expressions really bring out the best in this book!! I can't wait until it comes out!!!!

Total suspense packed novel with real heart

I loved this book! It was action packed and told a real story at the same time. As usual, Nicholas Sparks has taken a love story and turned it into so much more! The characters are totally believable and seem to come right out of real life. It started out a little slow, but once you get into it, the story really comes to life and keeps you gripped in its clutches until the very last line!

What a Perfect First Listen

I loved Steve Martin on Saturday Night and in all of his comedy roles, especially the romantic and parenting roles. I've never read one of his books, but this excerpt had me rolling on the floor in tears!!! It was so funny in a "this is a serious issue" kind of way.

Very realistic, yet imaginative

I really like how the mother and daughter interact. The daughter is a typical teen, but with a lot of imagination. The narrative is very descriptive and flows well. One of the better free samples. It really makes me want to hear more!

OK Interview, but doesn't inspire me

This interview didn't spark an interest in me that led me to want this book in my collection. It was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. Left me wondering what the book was even about.
