Historia
Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and Ebenezer Scrooge come to marvelous life in Patrick Stewart's critically-acclaimed solo interpretation of A Christmas Carol. The star of X-Men and The Royal Shakespeare Company, Stewart has performed his one-man stage production of this holiday classic to sell-out audiences.

Historia
After a tumultuous period in American politics, a new administration has just been sworn in, and to everyone’s surprise the president chooses a political enemy for the vital position of secretary of state. There is no love lost between the president of the United States and Ellen Adams, his new secretary of state. But it’s a canny move on the part of the president. Compelling albeit “prophetically scary” story.

George Orwell the journalist wrote countless articles detailing the ins and outs of dictatorships in Europe. Despite this he correctly surmised that while accurate his articles were being largely ignored. So, he took what he had observed and wrote a series of poignant novels aimed at revealing all to the world through literature. I feel that this is exactly what the authors have done here. At any other time this novel would have stood toe to toe with any number of interesting and successful spy novels of the last 50 years or so. But given that the characters are so close to our present state of affaires the novel is just down right scary. Thanks to the authors for trying the Orwellian path - I just hope more readers traverse it.

Historia
A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C. S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old devil to his nephew Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging and humorous account of temptation - and triumph over it - ever written.

Of course the content: singularly fascinating and smart. Wonderfully read.

Perfect- nothing to dislike. It is a must read for all! This must feel familiar to anyone frustrated by the liars, dictators, sycophants and fascists emerging in a post WWII world. Like 1984 this is a warning not merely a clever treatise on human psychology.

Good but…
Revisado: 12-24-23
Unfortunately, given the first tale I fully expected something to go terribly wrong in the end. But perhaps the world-wide anxiety we feel as humans combined with our climate of personal and state driven aggression makes me too cynical to judge subjectively.

Another engaging, fun, story. Couldn’t stop listening. Well read. My only complaint: I did not like the background music. It did not add to the listening experience - rather it was somewhat cloying.

Historia
It is the summer of 2013, and Abigail Kamara has been left to her own devices. This might, by those who know her, be considered a mistake. While her cousin, police constable and apprentice wizard Peter Grant, is off in the sticks chasing unicorns, Abigail is chasing her own mystery. Teenagers around Hampstead Heath have been going missing, but before the police can get fully engaged, the teens return home - unharmed but vague about where they've been.

Wonderful narration for a charming story. It is so refreshing to be led through a tale by an intelligent, witty young girl on a quest to do what is right. When is the next tale about Abigail and those crazy foxes?

Magical realism meets Charles Dickens. A must read/listen. A fairytale set in 20th century India & Pakistan. Fate, dreams, reality, self-actualization - the whole thing is compelling. Funny and tragic truly in the best Dickensian way.
