Historia
Over the course of more than three decades as an American diplomat, William J. Burns played a central role in the most consequential diplomatic episodes of his time - from the bloodless end of the Cold War to the collapse of post-Cold War relations with Putin’s Russia, from post-9/11 tumult in the Middle East to the secret nuclear talks with Iran. In The Back Channel, Burns recounts, with novelistic detail and incisive analysis, some of the seminal moments of his career.

Truly an interesting autobiography

William Burns has had a front row seat to most of the major diplomatic events of the last a several decades. He writes as if an objective observer that places country above party and real work pragmatism above blind ideology.

Along the way, Mattis recounts his foundational experiences as a leader, extracting the lessons he has learned about the nature of warfighting and peacemaking, the importance of allies, and the strategic dilemmas - and short-sighted thinking - now facing our nation.

Thrilling and provoking
Revisado: 09-16-19
One of most relevence and a must read for military leaders at every rank. Thought provoking for leaders and military strategists. Dumbfounding and heartbreaking for those that are intimately aware of the ultimate price paid when leaders failed to listen to such a fantastic student of history.

Historia
Clarke and Knake take us inside quantum-computing labs racing to develop cyber superweapons; bring us into the boardrooms of the many firms that have been hacked and the few that have not; and walk us through the corridors of the US intelligence community with officials working to defend America's elections from foreign malice. With a focus on solutions over scaremongering, they make a compelling case for "cyber resilience" - building systems that can resist most attacks, raising the costs on cyber criminals and the autocrats who often lurk behind them, and avoiding...overreaction.

Solid at the high level
Revisado: 08-30-19
The thing about cyber security is that's it's very technical. It's not easy to cover such technical details in a book for the general audience, but this does a good job of that.
