Interesting story but unrealistic

While this story had a lot of intrigue, some of it was very predictable and the characters were really, really stupid. Each person in the book took everyone at face value and didn’t research them. In today’s day and age, a lot of people use Facebook, Instagram etc.. to find out more about new people, especially strangers who become friends instantaneously.

Disappointing long saga

Beautiful writing but felt cheated by many parts of the story, touched on racism, holocaust and rich white people who couldnt consort with people other than themselves. Thru all those hours of listening, I felt the author just let me down, like she wanted to avoid those tough topics and just talk about the rich shallow people. Big disappointment.

I didn’t like this book. It was such a long drawn out story of who said she said. I felt the killing in the end was a lazy way to end it and a poor representation of the Depths people go to to defend their reputation.
Also, I was a little confused on the performers reading at times.

Didn’t enjoy this story. It’s a complete saga but there’s nothing to it. Quite boring. It tells the story of Alva’s life, rags to riches and how she embraces the riches while still questioning what true love is and how to find it. Didn’t enjoy. Couldn’t wait to get to the end. Just went on and on.
