Historia
Czechoslovakia, 1935: Viktor Kosárek, a newly trained psychiatrist who studied under Carl Jung, arrives at the infamous Hrad Orlu Asylum for the Criminally Insane. The facility is located in a medieval mountaintop castle surrounded by forests, on a site that is well known for concealing dark secrets going back many centuries. The asylum houses six inmates - the country's most treacherous killers - known to the terrified public as the Devil's Six. Viktor intends to use a new medical technique to prove that these patients share a common archetype of evil, a phenomenon he calls The Devil Aspect.

Excellent Book. Look forward to more.

Looking forward to checking out more from the same author. This book pulled me right through until the end, and to be honest that just doesn't happen much anymore. I get bored very easily.

January 1937. Jack Miller has just about run out of options. His shoes have worn through, he can't afford to heat his rented room in Tooting, and he longs to use his training as an specialist wireless operator instead of working in his dead-end job. Historia
An eerie and compelling ghost story set on the dark wilds of the Yorkshire moors. For fans of The Witchfinder's Sister or The Silent Companions, this Gothic tale will weave its way into your imagination and chill you to the bone. Maybe you've heard tales about Scarcross Hall, the house on the old coffin path that winds from village to moor top. They say there's something up here, something evil. Mercy Booth isn't afraid. The moors and Scarcross are her home and lifeblood.

Very Long With A Lot Of Irrelevant Details
Revisado: 08-14-21
This story goes on for quite awhile with not a lot happening. It seems like a very "paint by numbers" story. Think M Night Shaymalan. It is forecast in the beginning that there will be some type of a reveal. The rest of the story is simply trying to get to that reveal. Could have made it a short story and it would have been much better.

Historia
Konowa Swift Dragon, former commander of the Empire's elite Iron Elves, is looked upon as anything but ordinary. He has murdered a Viceroy, been court-martialed, seen his beloved regiment disbanded, and been banished in disgrace to the one place he despises the most---the forest.

Decent Book, But Beware....
Revisado: 10-03-19
Before you even start this book I will warn you: The 3rd part of this trilogy is NOT on audible nor is it available anywhere else in audio form. I listened to the first 2. Had I known this I would not have bothered.
That said, this first installment is an enjoyable read. Pretty decent plot line and entertaining action. There are a fair amount of creepy factors that I happen to enjoy.

Historia
In 1349, one small town in Germany disappeared and was never resettled. Tom, a contemporary historian, and his theoretical-physicist girlfriend, Sharon, become interested. By all logic, the town should have survived, but it didn't. Why? What was special about Eifelheim that it utterly disappeared more than 600 years ago?

What Could Have Been Great....
Revisado: 10-01-09
Is Garbage.
It spins along just fine until you get to an intriguing moment where they find a letter or something from the middle ages, the READ THAT LETTER IN THE ORIGINAL LANGUAGE WITH NO EXPLANATION!
The author works very hard here to show just how smart he is. There is no doubt he is smart. I don't care. I wanted a good story. If you are into hard sci-fi you might like it. Un-listenable to the average person.
