Historia
Leonardo da Vinci created the two most famous paintings in history, The Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. But in his own mind, he was just as much a man of science and engineering. With a passion that sometimes became obsessive, he pursued innovative studies of anatomy, fossils, birds, the heart, flying machines, botany, geology, and weaponry.

Historia
The year is 1970. Emma Gable, a blind teenager coming of age in a small industrial town in Western New York, is about as far from the seismic cultural transformations rocking campuses and city streets across America as a person can get. Emma escapes the chaos of her dysfunctional family by dialing up random numbers on the phone in her bedroom, just to see who'll answer.

Historia
In April 1956, a refitted oil tanker carried 58 shipping containers from Newark to Houston. From that modest beginning, container shipping developed into a huge industry that made the boom in global trade possible. The Box tells the dramatic story of the container's creation, the decade of struggle before it was widely adopted, and the sweeping economic consequences of the sharp fall in transportation costs that containerization brought about.

Revisado: 10-09-20
this is a great story. I'm a last mile, small truck, route driver or whatever people call it haha I am an Independent Contractor for delivery. As soon as I found out about this book I had to listen to it while I ran my route. There is a lot of info on how the shipping container changed a lot of things around the world. This is a great story.

Historia
In this stunning audiobook, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers" - the best and the brightest, the most famous, and the most successful. He asks the question: What makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: That is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

WOW, Amazing, I've always wondered about how some
Revisado: 01-24-20
I've always wondered how people like the ones in this book got started and where they came from. The Bill Gates got me the most. I almost didnt make it pasted the 1880s part because I am Washoe native and just got done listening to Black Elks story. So I did and from there it took me into another world of thinking. Your decoding is amazing. This to me is kind of a guide book. Thank you.

Upon his return, he was swept up in the traditionalist Ghost Dance movement and shaken by the massacre at Wounded Knee. But Black Elk was not a warrior, and instead chose the path of a healer and holy man, motivated by a powerful prophetic vision that haunted and inspired him.

The detail from all the different sources
Revisado: 01-21-20
I am Washoe, Northern Paiute, Navajo, Mexican, Spanish and Chinese. The details from all the different sources in this book are crazy with witnesses accounts. I felt like I traveled with Black Elk and others. Amazing but big time disturbing because I have a very visual mind and knowing I had Paiute family involved. I'm a driver and love it, so when I focused I was able to be right there listening to the narrator. Seeing everything unfold and what was headed to my people over here in Nevada, California and Arizona.

Historia
Russell Means was the most controversial American Indian leader of our time, and in Where White Men Fear to Tread, he recounts pivotal moments of his life. Means did everything possible to dramatize and justify the American Indian aim of self-determination — from storming Mount Rushmore and seizing Plymouth Rock to running for President in 1988. Perhaps most notoriously, in 1973, Means led a 71-day takeover of Wounded Knee, South Dakota.

Growing up hearing stories
Revisado: 01-21-20
I am Washoe, Paiute, Navajo, Mexican, Spanish and Chinese. I grew up on and off the rez hearing stories about Russell Means. From family and there friends at rez parties that were there with him. I didnt which ones to believe so I guess it's good thing I dont remember them but I wish I did now. It is great hearing some of the stories from him. The only thing I didnt agree with is the multi-family thing. This book needs to be common knowledge though. Thanks Russell Means I understand your message.

Where White Men Fear to Tread is the well-detailed, firsthand story of Russell Means' life - a life in which he did everything possible to dramatize and justify the Native American aim of self-determination. He stormed Mount Rushmore, seized Plymouth Rock, ran for President in 1988, and, most notoriously, led a 71-day takeover of Wounded Knee, South Dakota, in 1973.
