Historia
It's Autumn of 1940, and German bombs are destroying the cities of Britain as WWII takes its toll on Europe. In London, children are being removed from their families and taken to the country for safety. Teacher Eve Parkins is in charge of one such group, and her destination is an empty and desolate house that appears to be sinking into the tidal marshes that surround it. Its name is Eel Marsh House. Far from home and with no alternative, Eve and the children move in. But it soon becomes apparent that there is someone else in the house.

Historia
Whilst organising a mock murder hunt for the village fete hosted by Sir George and Lady Stubbs, a feeling of dread settles on the famous crime novelist Adriane Oliver. Call it instinct, but it's a feeling she just can't explain...or get away from. In desperation she summons her old friend, Hercule Poirot - and her instincts are soon proved correct when the "pretend" murder victim is discovered playing the scene for real, a rope wrapped tightly around her neck.

The story was good but...
Revisado: 05-28-15
I really liked the story but the one of the female's narrators voices really annoyed me a lot and how she was the reasons I didn't the audio book or how it was rated. The same can be said for the episode of this book that aired on PBS. David goes Hercule really well..like always. :)

Better than the movie!!
Revisado: 07-04-14
I wanted to listen to this book because I wanted to see how different it was from the movie. The book is so different but does has some similarities to the movie. I ended up enjoying the book more than the movie. Book had me to the end because I wanted to know what was going to happen. :)

Sherlock Holmes vs the demon barber/headless monk
Revisado: 07-04-14
Would you consider the audio edition of The Strange Case of the Demon Barber and The Mystery of the Headless Monk to be better than the print version?
Yeah I did!
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Strange Case of the Demon Barber and The Mystery of the Headless Monk?
When Sherlock was acting in "demon barber" and when the lady who committed the murder dies in the "headless monk".
Have you listened to any of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes! To me their is not a better pair to be Sherlock and Watson alive besides from the BBC show Sherlock.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No I didn't.
Any additional comments?
No.

Revisado: 09-09-13
I got this audiobook cause I want to listen to story before I watched Hemlock Grove on Netflex. The narrator is really good but the story was so- so to me. Some parts were good and some part seem like they were going on and on to me. I didn't like how it took to get to the end. I might not watch Hemlock Grove on Netflex now. :(

It was a horror movie that turned into real horror—three young actors lost their lives while the camera rolled. Production stopped, and people claimed that the movie was cursed. Sixty years later, new actors are venturing onto the haunted set. In a desperate attempt to revive their failing studio, Claire's dad has green-lit a remake of Mayhem Manor—and Claire and her friends are dying to be involved. At first, Claire laughs at Jake's talk of ghosts and curses. He's been too busy crushing on her best friend Delia to notice that she's practically been throwing herself at him.

I scream for your soul
Revisado: 09-06-13
What I love about this book is that R.L.Stine does his best. It's pretty much in the style of his previous books he has wrote before. I like the storyline but it could of been better I think. Also I'm not really happy with the narration and they could of picked a better person cause her voice is very annoying to me. Parts of the books could of been better and it also seems like it's been done before by other people.
Overall, you will like this book if like Stine's other books, or you like books that are in the teen genre.

Art & Fear explores the way art gets made, the reasons it often doesn't get made, and the nature of the difficulties that cause so many artists to give up along the way. This is a book about what it feels like to sit in your studio or classroom, at your wheel or keyboard, easel or camera, trying to do the work you need to do. It is about committing your future to your own hands, placing free will above predestination, choice above chance. It is about finding your own work.
