Historia
For the airline executives finalizing a merger that would make news in the business world, the nine a.m. meeting would be a major milestone. But after marketing VP Paul Rogan walked into the plush conference room, strapped with explosives, the headlines told of death and destruction instead. The NYPSD’s Eve Dallas confirms that Rogan was cruelly coerced by two masked men holding his family hostage.

Another captivating chapter in Eve's & Roarke's story. We were on a long road trip and drove well into the night just so we could finish the book. #fastpaced #kickasscop #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Historia
A serial kidnapper known as the Piper spent years snatching children from San Francisco’s wealthiest families. When crime reporter Scott Fleetwood got himself involved in one of the cases, the Piper went from kidnapper to murderer…and vanished. Now, after Fleetwood has languished under crippling guilt and public scorn for eight years, the Piper emerges from hiding to kidnap Fleetwood’s son. He’s demanding $2 million, but it’s not really about the money: the Piper wants blood - and he’ll use Fleetwood to get it.

narration limited the enjoyment
Revisado: 06-07-16
My biggest disappointment was the voice given to Scott. The narrator did not give Scott a range of emotions. As the father of kidnapped boys, he would be, in turn, anguished, despairing, frightened, hopeful, etc. Scott consistently sounded either unemotional, bland, or helpful in a high school tone. Two other main characters both had the same voice. The story itself was ordinary, with plenty of predictability, cringe moments when you just knew people in real life just didn't sound like that.

Scott Brick's performance was excellent, as it typically is. But this audiobook was brought down by a mediocre story. The most interesting part of the book was the rape trial, which was incidental to the main story line. Regarding the incident at the summer camp, what must have happened was pretty clear well before the end, about 3 hrs before the end. The epilog was typical in that it revealed that which was expected for much of the book.
