Possible Spoilers:
Tanner Cole and Devon Clark have been sniping and crushing on each other since they met. Multiple kidnapping attempts on Devon have pushed Tanner into crazytown and he needs to protect her, to keep her from danger, to make her his. We get introduced to Devon’s anchor bond Adam and his partner Hunter two very lovely and caring gay men.
There’s a secondary storyline that traces back to the orphanage where Knox Thorne and the Sentinels did time. I didn’t expect the villian to be the person who was exposed.
Doucette’s narration is ok, not great. Voice characterization is just ok, not great. I’ve been marathoning the series and I’m very tired of her voice. Nowhere near the level of Angela Dawe, Justine Eyre or Emma Wilder.

Possible Spoilers:
So Asher is already six months old in this installment of Knox Thorne & Harper Wallis Thorne. And our story kicks off with someone trying to kidnap Asher from a party at Grandma Jolene’s. So very unimpressed with the Sentinels - again. A bouncy house distracted them?
In this story we get:
>Melodrama from Harper that she wasn’t able to kill the incorporeal demon
>Devon’s older brother Drew shows up to try stirring the pot to form a wedge between Harper and Knox
>a missing Alethia who is presumed murdered
>Comic relief from Lu
>Respect from the other Primes for Harper’s torture skills
>Exposition & killing of the final horseman when they directly attack Knox et al on return from private island

I didn’t appreciate the inconsistencies in the story. Example: Did Grandma Jolene have a personality and brain transplant from one scene to another when she tricked Harper into meeting Drew?
Doucette did an ok job with narration, but there were several spots in the recording that had duplicate dialogue. I guess that would make this an editing error.

Possible Spoilers:
We get a young boy suspected of being raised primarily by his demon and a surprise pregnancy. We get hunter mercenaries, hexes, vortexes, and Encantatas, along with another horseman being exposed when they go after Harper. The arch demon comes out to play with hellfire when they kidnap her. The Blessed Event at the end helped balance out my aggravation with big weaknesses in the story, and contempt for the Sentinels as written.
I had a real problem with the author writing such incredibly poor security in these stories. The Sentinels were supposed to be such bad asses but they didn’t check inside the car in the last book and, at the announcement, they didn’t search the bathroom ahead of time and didn’t march Carla out immediately. Her unnecessary diatribe was doubly irritating. And Larkin didn’t stay with Harper later in the public bathroom at the parade. Tanner could have done a quick sweep and stepped outside if it was empty, ushered out anyone who was inside.
I also found the author’s writing so very annoying about Harper painting the baby’s bedroom when there are so many toxic chemicals in paint, but she’s drinking water and avoiding caffeine and alcohol. Get a clue!
Doucette does an ok job with narration.

Knox Thorne and Harper Wallis part 2: there’s a demon almost rogue who’s off his medication and determined to kill Knox. But there’s a clever manipulator in the background determined to kill Harper. All while planning their blow out party in the underground to celebrate their union. And along the way, Knox gets Harper and the girls to move their tattoo studio into the underground.

Possible Spoilers:
A whole new series originating from Wright’s Deep In Your Veins series. Knox Thorne is considered the most powerful demon and he needs an anchor - another human/demon - to bind with and keep him level.
Harper Wallis grabs his attention when she enters the fight ring in place of her cousin Chloe. Through a series of political events, kidnap attempts, family dramas & emotional conversations they learn to love each other step-by-step. They prevail.
In general, I avoid stories with demons because they are evil and I choose not to focus on them, not to give them any of my attention. The only demon series that I can say I like is Karen Lynch’s Relentless. I’m going to check out the next book in this series and decide from there.
Doucette did a pretty decent job with narration.

Possible Spoilers:
We get 2 younger brothers in this story…Jax, who is the younger brother of West Haven, and Eddie, who is the younger brother of Sasha Vaughn. Sasha is the new manager of the Haven River Ranch Resort, hired when West’s wife Indya was pregnant and planning on maternity leave. Jax is 9 years younger than West and the result of their father’s one night with a Vegas waitress. He has to make peace with dad’s wife Lily.
Then we have Eddie Vaughn, who is 11 years younger then Sasha. He was ‘the accident’ and, before he was emotionally mature enough to deal with that statement, their parents died when he was 7. Sasha was 18 and not really old enough to mother a troubled child. Eddie acted out, used drugs, and hung out with other troubled kids. Luckily, Eddie was sent to a camp for troubled teens, using Wilderness therapy & School courses. Eddie has to make peace with himself & his older sister.
Dexter and Erickson do an ok job of narration.

Possible Spoilers:
I’ve read a minimum of 5k books in my lifetime, probably closer to 8k. In recent years I’ve written over 2k Audible reviews. I’ve got a very long term and personal relationship with books. So…
The Perry books I’ve read so far always leave me with a feeling of ‘very close, but no cigar’. Like the vignettes over the years between West and Indya. There wasn’t enough dialogue or action between them when young to make their lifelong love believable. One week in June for some, but not all, years. Doesn’t compute. Yes, there was attraction when they hit teens, but there would have been communication between them outside of one week if their love was that dynamic. ALL fiction is made up but the story has to make sense within the world the author has created.
The author did good on portraying how Grant, his wife and daughter were all held hostage by his cancer; even Grant’s comments related to how much time he had left played into it. But she dropped the ball on how it negatively impacted Indya’s life choices as an adult, just like children of physical abuse or alcoholics.
Brentmoor and Craig did a decent job of narration.

Possible Spoilers:
We open with Poppy & her husband James Sawyer Maysen adding an activity to the Birthday List he created which were yearly goals to accomplish before a birthday. Yearly vs an end-of-life Bucket List which may-or-may-not be feasible due to ill health.
The next scene is Officer Cole coming to Poppy’s door to inform her of Jamie’s death during a robbery.
The story picks up 5 years later with Poppy starting to accomplish some items on that Birthday List. Poppy is determined to make new memories using the list to hopefully move on.
She’s jumped out of a plane and opened The Maysen Jar Restaurant. Then she goes to an Intro Karate class and meets Cole again. And he’s again impressed with how beautiful she is. There’s electricity there. And Cole decides to find a way to follow up with Poppy. To verify if there’s truly something there. Her best friend and business partner Molly encourages the romance. Cole is motivated to look into why the shooter was never caught, which is another entangled storyline. And Molly is also Polly’s brother Finn’s ex-wife with a rocky relationship to add another storyline.
Moran and York did an ok job with narration. I’m not a fan of York’s oddly flat voice when reading the explanatory narrative.

This really is a basic formula friends-to-lovers with an added bit of the runaway bride who caught her fiancé boinking the maid of honor. Not really good, not bad.
It could be distracting if you need something light, but wait to catch it on sale or borrow.
I like both the narrator’s voices *but* Cendese does icky female voices.

To add confusion, J&S have to deal with Antonio’s guests who include a previous wanna be consort of Jared and the vision of a potential alternate bonded mate for Sam. Headaches and frustration abound til they finally get the drop on the bad ‘uns.
