I accidently bought this dramatized version instead of the original narration by Tim Gerald Reynolds. As opposed to Tim's narrations which have been absolutely amazing...

Back when story tellings still took their time to tell a story.
Revisado: 10-31-22
I find so much of todays story telling takes on the lowest common denominator of an audiences, and so many kids brought up with tablets and instant gratification haven’t the patience for good story telling, that is about chatacter not about empty explosions or bug empty battles where it’s all surface level that the plot and themes are occuring on.
Back in the 80’s and before that 70’s all the way to the 50’s science fiction and fantasy understood that building up to events made those moments worth so much more than when things are just a simple into to characters and instantly into fighting some giant battle, the issue with that is after you have seen this a few times eventually who cares anymore. It all becomes empty and predictable. At least when you take time to develope a group of characters like Eddings did, or like other authors did before the 2000’s then events where exciting things happen can now have so much more weight and so much more interesting things around them.

Good, but...
Revisado: 09-24-20
Tim Gerard Reynolds is an amazing narrator, a series master at it. As far as the author, and story, i honestly liked both the two first books in the series, they characters are well written, it is hard not to root for characters. My only real complaint is that several key concepts of the stories honestly feel like retellings of well known fantasy series from other authors famous in the 80’s. Don’t know if it is unconscious but many scenes feel very familiar....
Still loved it...
