Historia
All are equal in death. Tallora’s world ends in a single, bloodstained night, and all the world will fall in line, unless the gods interfere. But divine aid comes at a price no mortal can pay, except in death, and perhaps Death, herself, has a few tricks of her own. From the author of Fallen Gods comes a tale of redemption and sacrifice - and the true power of forgiveness.

It was even better the second time!
Revisado: 07-13-23
This was easily the best wlw fantasy romance I've ever listened to. Granted, I haven't been able to find a whole lot of them... But still. I felt so many emotions during this series. I laughed, I cried, I felt the heartache and turmoil, the joy and happiness of the characters. It was relatable, even thought it involved gods and goddesses and mythical creatures. It had such a good ending, even if it left me wanting more (because it's such a good story with good characters! I didn't want it to end!). To be honest, I will probably give it a 3rd listen soon.... I love it that much. And going through the series the 2nd time, I picked up on little things I totally missed the 1st time around!

Historia
Siane has dreamed of attaining the dark queen Callai’s hand for most of her life. Callai is a mystery, and she holds many secrets, some of which involve Siane herself. Centuries ago, the goddess of light was defeated by Callai and the other demon lords, who split the world between themselves to rule. Siane grew up in the Dominion of Shadow, and from an early age she dreamed of becoming Callai’s consort. Fortune favored her, and she managed to become one of the handful of students and potential suitors of the queen who resided in the Palace of Shadow.

Good, but not long enough for me!
Revisado: 07-03-23
It was a good short story. This story has less than 10 chapters, and I have to say I'm sad it ended so soon. It felt like this could be the beginning to a nice trilogy, and I hope the author does explore that option! Honestly I don't think I would have called this a romance, but I suppose it does fall in that category, however short it is. If you liked this and want something longer, I'd recommend something from S. D. Simper.

Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her...beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing...it’s taken away. All of it. The Keeper understands. He’s trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation. Every night, Azalea and her 11 sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest. But there is a cost. The Keeper likes to keep things. Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

Emotional and Riveting
Revisado: 03-31-21
I really loved this story! It was well written and the narration was done well too! It almost reminded me of a black and white film, the way it was done (which I loved, and I feel reflects the time period very well). It made me laugh, it made me tear up, it made me roll my eyes, and it made me hope (: it was a beautiful story all around and I loved all the characters!

Historia
I thought I wanted to know what I was. Now that I’ve discovered the answers aren’t so pretty, it turns out there are no take backs. The most powerful monsters in existence fear this one mortal thief. Unfortunately, that means they’re set on stamping out my existence. The demon who was my strongest ally has been caught in the middle, his freedom and his life on the line. And that’s before we get into the genocidal psycho who’s about to unleash a catastrophe that could destroy both our worlds all by itself.

Not bad, but also not great.
Revisado: 01-21-21
I listened to all 4 books in the series because I wanted to know the whole story, to see if it would develop more and to see where things would go. I found plenty of little plot holes, and honestly was annoyed that the ending was so simple. Spoiler- she never even meets or faces off with the Highest. And her change in mindset after Omen temporarily dies (wtf?) was not done very well in my opinion. They also never mention that she saved the original 3 mobster dudes, which is was annoying to me because maybe Omen wouldn't have been such a dick all the time if they had just told him that. But even when they were all recounting that Sorsha had saved them, those 3 didn't speak up. Also, the battle with Tempest was meh. They also didn't explain the sickness or the cure she was trying to make in any kind of detail.
As for the narrator... She read the whole series in basically the same tone the entire time - even if the book says that the characters said something in a different tone, she kept using her upbeat one. If a character's voice broke, hers stayed uplifted and unbroken. If a character shouted, she would do a whisper-shout kind of thing. Honestly made me laugh at that part, when it was supposed to be serious. I think she should read the books once before narrating them so that she can properly inflect the emotions of the characters instead of reading it all in one general tone that doesn't match the story most of the time anyway.
If you like books that are more about relationships than story development, this is not a bad series to pick up. Especially because the price is fairly low compared to other books.

Oh my heart!
Revisado: 11-20-20
I both love and hate this addition to the dresden files. I couldn't stop listening, though. I felt so many emotions - I even cried a few times! I don't want to spoil anything, but this book is a big game changer, and the part that I hate is an event that transpired in the book. Heart wrenching doesn't even begin to describe how I felt.
If you love the series, you'll eat this book whole! But be warned, the dresden files universe will never be the same after this.
Also, the short story at the end was very touching 🧡

Historia
How did Fidel Castro fool the CIA for a generation? Why did Neville Chamberlain think he could trust Adolf Hitler? Why are campus sexual assaults on the rise? Do television sitcoms teach us something about the way we relate to each other that isn't true? While tackling these questions, Malcolm Gladwell was not solely writing a book for the page. He was also producing for the ear. In the audiobook version of Talking to Strangers, you’ll hear the voices of people he interviewed - scientists, criminologists, military psychologists.

A Truly Moving Title
Revisado: 03-19-20
This book was formatted in a different manner than most others I've listened to or read in the past. The author includes excerpts from another audiobook, recordings from trials and interviews, and even plays a song for us on several occasions. It think it really helps to truly immerse the listener in the story being told.
This book, while at first did confuse me with what direction it would take, does make a complete circle. And with that circle, after hearing everything the author has to tell us, it becomes so obviously clear to you that you wonder why you didn't see it before. This book is an eye opener, a mind changer. I don't think I will ever see things the way that I used to. At least, I hope I don't. This book teaches us all several valuable lessons, and a lot of it takes place in gray areas. It is invaluable, and I hope to see teachers using parts of it in their classrooms someday.

Love this series
Revisado: 01-24-17
If you liked the first few, you're gonna love this one too! I always enjoy these books, and I love the narrator! There is one part in the book that the audio got jumbled and faded out, but context clues helped me figure it out. That's the only reason this is 4 stars. I even tried downloading it again
