Absolutely worth your time and credit
Revisado: 10-24-22
I wish I had not listened to some of the other reviews. I put this audio off too long because of that. I was wary about starting with two unknown characters that were separate from the world NS had built. Surprise! We still get to touch base with known characters. We still get to peek into the continuation of other story plots (looking at you Arwen ;) ). She is developing the mercant family and connections and I am here for it. Forget the bad reviews. This book is worth your time.

Historia
Kit Colbana - half breed, assassin, thief, jack of all trades - has a new job: track down the missing ward of one of the local alpha shapeshifters. It should be a piece of cake. So why is she so nervous? It probably has something to do with the insanity that happens when you deal with shifters - especially sexy ones who come bearing promises of easy jobs and easier money.

Awful Heroine
Revisado: 07-10-22
This author was trying to go for the "badass female can-take-care-of-herself" vibe and missed the mark completely. This heroine had to be rescued from pretty much every situation she put herself in, was abrasively rude in an attempt to be Miss Independent and had some kind of breakdown after every ordeal. This listen was free otherwise I would have asked for a return credit half-way through.

Historia
Unable to shift for three months, Mateo Cruz knows all too well. His wolf has taken up residence in his head, taunting him night and day with vividly violent and carnal thoughts. Convinced he's cursed, he needs the help of a powerful witch before he literally goes insane. Evie Savoie has always obeyed the house rule of her coven: no werewolves. They're known for being volatile. So, when a distempered, dangerous werewolf strolls into the bar and almost strangles one of her late-night customers, she's ready to bounce him through the door. But she sees the desperation in his eyes....

Thoroughly Enjoyed!
Revisado: 06-21-22
Just what I was looking for! I wanted something along the lines of Shelly Laurenston or K.F. Breen and this hit the mark. The story moves quickly and there's no "too stupid to live" moments (thanks for that). The main characters were likeable and this book avoided the typical 'broody angsty werewolf alpha male' trope. The other characters were fleshed out enough that it makes you want to listen to their stories too. Happy I took a chance on a new author/series!

Excellent story. HORRID narrator.
Revisado: 09-21-19
I have loved this story for years. It is one of the books I go back to for comfort. This narrator makes the male characters sound like Neanderthals. All of them. I was so disappointed in the narration when I thought I was buying a book I would be able to re listen to over and over again.

Excellent Start. Anxiously awaiting the rest!
Revisado: 09-13-19
Anyone that has read Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken's Pride series or The Warrior Chronicles will greatly appreciate this new adventure. The effortless balance of humor, action and pathos is ever-present. There are several characters that ring familiar bells but are distinct enough that they are their own entities. I saw someone complain about "no romance" and I strongly disagree. The romance is paced and present from the start. Just because people aren't pawing at each other within 10 pages does not mean a lack of romance. I am truly looking forward to the rest of this series.

YAY CHAROTTE IS BACK! The main characters tho...
Revisado: 04-06-19
I realized shortly into the story, that I was much more interested in all the surrounding stories than I was in the main character stories. I was never interested in Stevie. I was never interested in Chen. In previous stories, Chen had been set up as a humorous sidekick character. No-one I would want to read an entire book about. this held true through the entire audiobook. No interest in either of them. In this story, the author tried to make them into main characters and it simply did not work for me. I felt no Chemistry Between the two main characters. None at all. However, the strength of this author is that she weaves such an enjoyable world, and such enjoyable supporting characters, that you don't even have to be invested in the main characters to enjoy the story.

Won't be finishing this series.
Revisado: 03-02-19
The main character (silver) has become a whiny, ungrateful and TSTL (too stupid to live) character. It makes absolutely no sense why all the other characters flock to her. She is utterly unlikable. After the 200th time she pulled a, "no one tells me what to do because I'm a big girl" followed immediately by needing rescuing, followed immediately by her being petulant and ungrateful for the help....I was done. I find no redeeming qualities in her character. It was difficult to finish. The only reason I finished was that I was curious to learn more about Justice.

Using the word "retarded" will NEVER make me laugh
Revisado: 02-07-19
Do NOT waste your time on this audiobook. I am roughly 3 hours in and I cannot listen to another second.
1. I believe it speaks poorly of the character of ANYone (including the author) that believes throwing around the word 'tard' and 'retarded' in an effort to be funny. There was no need. It added nothing to the scene, character, plot, etc. When I heard it for the second time, I was done. I will not be finishing this book. It wasn't worth it even before the use of that language.
2. The characters are under-developed and what there IS of character development leaves me with the impression that ALL of the females are thus: whiny, abrasive, materialistic, weak, unintelligent and TSTL.
Yeah, so...skip this one. It won't take much to find anything better.

Drama + Complimenting Humor = Win
Revisado: 09-25-18
K.F. Breene does not disappoint. Initially, I was concerned that this would not have the same vein of humor as her other books. Sometimes, I like to step out of the darker novels like those from the Black Dagger Brotherhood or something by Dianne Duvall. When I want to be interested but lighter, I prefer to step into something by this author (k.f.), Darynda Jones, or Shelly Laurenston. When I read the synopsis of this book, I thought maybe she was writing something more dramatic and focused on something serious. On one hand, yes, this is a more serious novel than the others I have read of hers, but on the other, it still has the vein of humor to balance it all out and make me smile. She brings humor and drama as always. I'm so glad I get to binge on this!

Historia
Forget everything you know about the world. Vampires exist, Werewolves exist, monsters hide in the shadows, and it's my job to make sure they obey our laws. My name is Evelyn, and I'm a gargoyle. The last one or so I thought. A team of Gargoyles have found me. And for the first time in over a century, I'm not the only one of my kind around, which is a good thing since demons are slipping into this world fully formed.

Great story! Needs new male narrator...
Revisado: 07-06-18
I really enjoyed the pace of this story as well as getting to know the multiple characters. however, while the female narrator did a wonderful job of allowing the story to come through in her narration, the male narrator put on voices that distracted me from listening to the story. There is another review that someone said that he made them think of Voldemort from Harry Potter and I could not agree more. Other than that, I am sincerely looking forward to the rest of this series and I will definitely be purchasing them.
