Story is good, however in this book it's like the author (who I'm a fan of) forgot key details of her own story like the name of the club, which bothered me. Other than that I enjoyed the story.

This is my first time reading a book from this author and I'm a damn fan! Listened to this book in a day...lol
iiKane's narration was chef's kiss. Winston's accent was definitely off (more of a Nigerian accent than Haitian accent) but not to the point that it killed the vibe of the book. Looking forward to more audio books from this author. This was/is well, well worth the credit.

This is truly a sad but GOOD book. I could see where the story was going with Tru but was still almost in tears about her. I was pleasantly surprised and it is so worth the credit.

Thought I left a review the first time I read this book but since I didn't... This story was beautiful and I wish it had been a little longer, truthfully. The style of duet narration that Wesleigh and Emmanuel performed really brought it to life for me. I could see it unfolding as I listened. I'm a huge fan of CCJ and she hit the nail on the head again. I remember thinking that all audio books should be in this format the first time I read it, and listening to it again reinforced those thoughts. ❤️ This book.

I really wanted to like this book more than I do, however the female narrator was VERY distracting, and at times pulled my attention away from the story. Like the other reviewers mentioned she sounds very robotic and like she is reading some sort of manual. No emotion. I thought I could get past it and it was a real struggle. Winston James performance was a great as always. I do hope to read/listen to other books by this author though.

I loved every minute of this book!!! Definitely worth the credit. (I prefer to use them on longer books anyway. Seems like I get the full value of the credit...) Kennedy Ryan has a way with spinning her thoughts and words, that make me feel the raw emotion of her characters. l also knew with Wesleigh and Jakobi narrating, would add an extra layer to this already great work of black love.

I Love this book SOOO much and the characters in it, that it was a real disappointment to hear it done such a disservice by this narrator. It was really hard to listen to. I'm so glad I'd read the book before this purchase otherwise I believe I would have missed out on a really good book. I wonder if this was Ms. Garth first time narrating. It was hard to tell which characters were speaking, the inflections of the words were off, it was read with almost no emotion, and some words mispronounced. I am not a writer nor a critic, however I think in order to this book justice I think it needs to be reread by a different narrator.
