I would say this is a 3.5-4 star story

The only thing that saves this book is the writing and the MMC. The FMC is so childish and annoying that it’s hard to enjoy the rest of the storyline. I think midway through the book I found Genevieve to be slightly less whiny, but throughout the book it feels like she never actually grows and continues to just be frustrating. I enjoyed Phantasma and will likely read the third book in the series, but this was a hard book to get through, and at no fault of the narrator. Narrator does an excellent job.

Plot Holes and Inconsistencies

Wanted to love this book and I think overall, many people will still enjoy it. What some will consider plot twists, I considered to be more forced inconsistencies that were placed to make the intended end become plausible. I think some parts of the story didn’t need to be included and lead to more questions than character depth or plot progression, but overall it was just an ok book for me. I loved the first two books in this trilogy so I’m a bit disappointed with the wrap up in this book. This ending left me feeling underwhelmed and frustrated to the point I don’t think I can recommend the series to others in the future. The narrators still did a great job with bringing the book to life though.
