Historia
Told with the same intimate style, brutal honesty, and uproarious wisdom that placed Wishful Drinking on the New York Times bestseller list for months, Shockaholic is the juicy account of Carrie Fisher’s life, focusing more on the Star Wars years and dishing about the various Hollywood relationships she’s formed since she was chosen to play Princess Leia at only 19 years old.

Carrie Fisher is a survivor!
Revisado: 04-02-25
I admire Carrie Fisher so much. She was a survivor of many traumas and I most appreciate her honesty in how real she was. I thought this book was very interesting and I'm so glad that she, herself narrarated it.

Historia
With shocking insights into one of the most talked about murder cases in American history, Abomination: Devil Worship and Deception in the West Memphis Three Murders reveals the truth about the death of three children in West Memphis, Arkansas in 1993. By analyzing original police transcripts and court documents, William Ramsey conclusively proves that witchcraft and the occult were involved in the heinous murders, and that a continuing wall of deception has prevented the public from realizing the awful truth about the West Memphis Three child killings.

Horrible repetition and very biased
Revisado: 11-12-24
The AI narrator was bad and the story itself had a lot of repetition in it. The same sentences and paragraphs were repeated a lot throughout this book and I found it to be very biased. The writer definitely pushed the Satanic Panic button and I do not feel this book was well written. it had a clear agenda but was very boring in the way it was presented.

Historia
In Oscar Wars, Michael Schulman chronicles the remarkable, sprawling history of the Academy Awards and the personal dramas—some iconic, others never-before-revealed—that have played out on the stage and off camera. Unlike other books on the subject, each chapter takes a deep dive into a particular year, conflict, or even category that tells a larger story of cultural change, from Louis B. Mayer to Moonlight. Schulman examines how the red carpet runs through contested turf, and the victors aren't always as clear as the names drawn from envelopes.

Not what I thought it would be, kinda boring.
Revisado: 03-18-24
This book was not what I thought it would be. I was hoping for juicy gossip about actors, but instead I found this audio book to be kind of boring. Too much information was given on things I just wasn't interested in. I could not finish listening to it. Of course this is just my opinion of it. Someone else might find it more to their liking. It just wasn't for me.

Historia
From the do-or-die early days of self-financed recordings and D.I.Y. concert productions that were as flashy as they were foolhardy, to the multi-platinum, MTV-powered glory years of stadium-shaking anthems and chart-topping power ballads, to the ultimate crash when grunge bands like Nirvana forever altered the entire climate of the business, Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock's Nothin' But a Good Time captures the energy and excess of the hair metal years in the words of the musicians and industry insiders who lived it.

Just random quotes after quotes. Did not like it.
Revisado: 12-23-23
I found this book to be repetitive and it seemed like it was just quote after random quote from musicians relative to Motley Crue. I couldn't even finish this book and returned it.
