A scary Halloween listen

It is one thing to read or listen to the many tales of Trump’s hubris and vast ignorance. It is quite another thing to hear him convict himself of unfitness for leadership in his own voice.
Many of the recordings bring the September 29, 2020, “debate” shit show to mind. No new material for any who have read Woodward’s books, but a truly scary listen for Halloween weekend!

Oxymoron: Gannett and journalist

Mr Wolff has, from time to time, failed to follow the ethics of journalism. There are sufficient incidents included in Fire and Fury to suspect that he may have reported his suppositions as fact, and/or supported them with contextually irrelevant quotes. That said, there is little doubt among reasonable people that the Trump White House was chaotic, ill-informed, unfofused, and corrupt. Another book reporting the same is unnecessary, and exaggerating the reality all the more so.
Mr Graham needs to consult an American English pronunciation guide before recording his next title. His performance was distracting.

Informative book and series. Terrible narration.

This series is well-written, informative, and easy to follow. Mr. Pratt, on the other hand would benefit by taking time to read the text before his performance. Frequent awkward phrasing drives me up the wall.

While fiction is not my preference, some is entertaining, informative, or both. This is trite, corny, and a waste of otherwise useful listening time. Thankfully, it was free of charge.

He is more despicable than you thought

I was first aware of Trump sometime in the early 80s. I was not a fan. My opinion is unchanged, but I must admit that I was not familiar with most of his pathetic and petty acts and statements recounted in this book. Having read it, my revulsion is better explained. I look forward to a day when I can watch a newscast and not hear him mentioned...ever again. For him, as the author makes clear, that day will be hell.

I am, by the way, a Republican. I did not cast a presidential ballot in 2016, and I am ashamed of “Republicans” in the House and Senate who tolerate and even defend this man. They should be taken in custody and subjected to a reading of this narrative.

In the end, the reader will realize what a small and ignorant person this Trump really is...no, come to think of it, many will not. I wish that I had not purchased this book. I wish that I had not read this book. I recommend it only to sufferers of chronic constipation; at least you will be able to puke.

Poor Audible Editing

Shelby Foote is one of the best of the narrative historians. This is perhaps his best work. BUT, there being no apparent differences in the display, as I changed listening devices, volume 3, broken down into five parts, became scrambled and my three devices failed to synchronize. As a result, the chronology became jumbled, and the book did not show as finished on all devices. I regret that I cannot recommend this Audible book. Buy Kindle or print edition. Shame on Audible!
This is my first bad experience with Audible, but if there are others in the future, I will have to discontinue. I am not patient, and I have no tolerance for mediocrity.
