Mabel Sheffield is too tall, or so she believes. It's one of the reasons she has given up on finding a husband and instead, embraces her role as a spinster, dedicating her days to managing her grandmother's estate and her seven-year-old sister. But when Liam MacKenzie shows up at her house to stay for the summer, she's unsure if she can keep her resolve. The problem: He's the other reason she's a spinster.

Lovely Regency Romance!
Revisado: 02-24-21
The main characters, Mac and Mabel, are well matched in height and shared history.
The Lady of Larkspur Vale is a charming and clean, second chance Regency romance with childhood friends-to-unrequited love-to-reconciliation-to-true love.
I highly recommend this engaging and satisfying story. You'll enjoy the setting, the storyline, and the sweet ending.

The power of forgiveness
Revisado: 02-01-21
I love the title of the book - A Forgiving Heart - it's the perfect title for a profound lesson interwoven in a charming and mysterious plot.
This heartfelt story shows the vast difference between characters defined by the past and characters affected by the past, of characters who are bitter and characters who became better, of characters who harbor unpleasant memories and experiences and characters who forgive and show empathy and mercy toward others, of characters who hold onto hurts and characters who help others, of characters with hardened hearts and characters with forgiving hearts.
I highly recommend this book for the enjoyable story and for the significant meaning of having a forgiving heart, of letting go of the past, and of loving life.

I highly recommend this new series by Sally Britton!! This novel was a sweet start to the Clairvoir Castle Romances.
Alice is uncertain yet determined to succeed at her position as the new governess in the Duke's household. Rupert's goal is to successfully catalogue the plants and insects on the Duke's estate. Their relationship and care for each other blooms and unfolds naturally and realistically.
I was charmed and captivated by this lovely and engaging Regency Romance. I enjoyed the narration, the setting, the characters, and the pace of the plot. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!

Nothing will keep Louisa from her great-aunt's fortune. Except perhaps a phantom who turns out to be a most eligible bachelor. Although Louisa Banner insists she is not the least bit superstitious, she cannot help her misgivings when her family announces she must spend October with her great aunt in a rundown Welsh castle riddled with tales of ghosts. The family hopes Louisa will endear herself to her aunt enough to win a grand inheritance. Louisa’s only wish is to avoid a run-in with any of the phantoms spoken of by the local villagers.

I enjoyed the setting, the story and the performance!
Set in a small and remote Northumberland village, the heroine Louisa is sent there by her mother to stay with an unknown great aunt. Erasmus, the hero, has retreated to his isolated family estate in Northumberland to write and because of ancestral ghostly influence.
There are ghosts, ruins, a treasure hunt, and a very satisfying romance!
This is an audiobook and story that I could enjoy listening to over and over... It's a sweet and clean romance, a little suspenseful, and a beautifully written book.

My favorite Britton book so far!
Revisado: 10-28-20
I LOVED this redemption story...
I was so intrigued that Lord Neil had a story in this series and a reformation and a romance, I was curious what it would entail and how I would feel about the characters, especially Neil. Neither Neil nor Teresa's lives were what they had expected or desired but they were willing to work hard and persevere and find happiness. If Lord Neil can change and improve, then it's possible for anyone.
This story was natural, heartwarming, transforming, engaging and hopeful. I highly recommend this well written and well read audiobook for fans of sweet and clean Regency Romance and Sally Britton's books!

Unmasked!
Revisado: 07-26-20
At the beginning of the book the main characters are wearing pretentious masks but by the end both are revealed and humbled.
Cecelia wears a society mask - spoiled, manipulative, prideful, and expected to marry the best title and wealthy gentleman that she can snare with her beauty, charms and connections.
Jacques wears an impostor mask - entreated as a young child by his father to discard their servitude and take on the wealth, title, lifestyle and family connections of their deceased master.
I think that Cecelia and Jacques connected quickly because they were both hiding - hiding things from themselves, hiding things from society, and hiding things from their families and friends.
What a complicated plot and choice - I wonder what I would have chosen in either of their situations... Conform to family and society's expectations, take whatever opportunities are available even if it's a form of deception, or be true to yourself and honest with yourself and others?

Enjoyable Regency Romance!
Revisado: 05-26-20
I enjoyed listening to this charming Regency Romance audiobook and recommend it to fans of sweet, clean, and satisfying Regency Romance.
I liked the hero and heroine and hoped for a happy ending for them amid a drunken wager, a horrible villain, the scheming ton, and many miscommunications and misconceptions. The story was well narrated and the story was captivating and compelling to listen to. I looked forward to what would happen next every time I was able to listen.
I'm looking forward to Isabel's sister's story and hoping for a happy ending for her too.

Delightful and Clean Regency Romance!
Revisado: 05-19-20
I loved this story and the narration was 5 stars!
A former soldier suffering with post traumatic stress and nightmares from serving in the Napoleonic war.
A heroine caught up in a web of deceit and parental pressure to restore family honor through underhanded means.
"Can they find a way to heal their hearts together? Or will Millie's deception ruin them both?"
This highly satisfactory story left me eagerly awaiting Lord Neil's story!
