While the story is very entertaining and gets the blood flowing, it is often difficult to track and follow the story without listening all in one sitting.

This book is a "must read." It is startling how the Federal, State, and local governments used the pandemic to shift wealth from small businesses to large and centralized companies. Carol's book goes in-depth into the governments' continuing efforts to hamper and destroy small businesses. The book is very well documented and researched. This book underscore the issues that businesses face in the United States of America, not from just competition, but from the governments as well. The only detractor from this audiobook is that Carol did not narrate it herself. This is not a comment about Chris Henry Coffey's narration, it is great, it is just that Carol brings a presence with her and her communication has panache. Even without her narration, this book is FANTASTIC and I highly recommend this book.

Tim Robbins performance was excellent. His execution of this reading was flawless and helped paint a vivid picture of Mr. Bradbury's words. The story is a classic "must read" especially now in 2020 where social media and everyone's attachment to their phone or screen is as pronounced as it is. I do like the irony that this is an audio book (vs a book of text). The third section ends with all books being "known" and shared / passed down audibly until the time comes for the words to be written down again. Quite delicious and possibly unintended by Mr. Bradbury (as this was written in 1953 and audio books are a much more recent phenomenon. (Spoken books or recordings of "audio books" has been around since the invention of sound recording but didn't gain popularity until the 1970's / 1980's.) But there is a nagging doubt after reading much of Ray Bradbury's work, he might have been precognitive and it was intended.) I recommend this book and Mr. Robbins' performance.

Something Wicked This Way Comes Audiolibro Por Ray Bradbury arte de portada

The story is a classic tale of good vs evil, innocence vs corruption, order vs chaos. This is a “must listen” for anyone wanting to complete their Contemporary American Author Badge – Ray Bradbury. Kevin Foley’s reading of “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is FANTASTIC. From the innocent and naive voicing of Will and Jim, to the defeated & regret-filled adult Mr. Halloway to the guttural representation of Mr. Dark and Mr. Cooger painted a vivid representation of the characters beyond just that which Mr. Bradbury wrote. I am definitely going to be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Foley and I recommend this Audible version because of his narration. The review below is my view of the story. There are hundreds of reviews of this book (and movie) on-line, so this should NOT be the only review you read. This is book two in the “Green Town” series and arguably the best of the three (“Dandelion Wine,” “Something Wicked This Way Comes,” & “Farewell, Summer.” One could argue that there are four if you count the anthology of short stories, “Summer Morning, Summer Night,” but I am not including it in my ranking because it isn’t a novel). “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is the best because there are protagonists, (Jim Nightshade, William “Will” Halloway, & Mr. Halloway) and antagonists (Mr. Dark, Mr. Cooger, the Dust Witch, & the rest of the Carnival Denizens.). The other books and stories from “Green Town” are a collection of stories of a Midwestern town, Waukegan, Illinois, where Mr. Bradbury is from. They are good stories but like Joyce’s Ulysses, they are just stories of the “every-day normal” and the imaginations and importance we put upon the “normal.” The story itself is of innocence being corrupted by temptation from evil. While it isn’t clearly stated that Mr. Dark is “evil,” it is very clear that he is there to tempt people and corrupt them. He prays upon the regrets of the adults to steal their life from them through the machinations of the carnival’s carousel. Jim and Will, being the almost-14-year-old boys that they are, are interested in the carnival, the sideshows, and the new sensations and experiences they bring. They experience the carnival but want to ride the carousel but it is “out of order.” The boys are physically apprehended by Mr. Cooger and held until Mr. Dark tells Mr. Cooger to release them and tells them to “come back later.” They run away after the encounter and watch from a distance and see Mr. Cooger riding the carousel backwards (music and all) and after the ride he stepped off the carousel as a 12-year-old boy… At this point the story really gets moving and I am stopping to prevent spoilers… Overall, “Something Wicked This Way Comes” is a good story about temptation, corruption and the pitfalls that happen to the innocent and pure when they succumb. This story has had many retellings in popular culture from The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XXVII: "Something Westbrook This Way Comes to Rick and Morty’s: “Something Ricked This Way Comes.”

The Four Seasons of Marriage Audiolibro Por Gary Chapman arte de portada

I liked the book but I've listened to, and liked, Chapman's other books on Love Languages, so I have a bias. This book is a great resource for a marriage and has very good pointers for when the marriage is in the "Fall" or "Winter." (Honestly, the pointers are good for even "Spring" and "Summer"" I recommend the book as a reference (the last 2 "chapters" of the audio book"). The first chapters explain the different "seasons" of marriage but the meat of the book is in how to maintain and improve your marriage.

the story was AWESOME but it is a classic sci-fi so don't expect the movie ending.

idk why they say this is a movie tie-in, it's the original story.

the performance was excellent but it took me a while to get into Mike's cadence. once I figured out his cadence and that of the story teller's, it was a breeze to go through.

if you liked the movie that was based upon this book AND you like sci-fi, this is a good book to listen to.

this is a must read/listen. great all the way through but the summary is the most important, children are different from adults and what works on adults doesn't always work on children the same way.

great book all around!

I am happy I heard this book but I don't think I would say it is a classic. It was a fun listen. The voice acting was very, VERY good. So I will need to look for more books narrated by Christopher Cazenove.

Overall the story was, meh. I was not expecting much from the story so I wasn't too disappointed.

Fun listen (Due to Christopher Cazenove) but if you are looking for a riveting story, this is NOT the book.
