Without doubt this is one of my favorite Joe Pickett novels! One of the things that sets this one apart is how most of the action took place in a singular where Joe could rely on no one or nothing save his mind. Loved how everything all came together in the end - bravo!

Historia
The story of the Jews is high drama with a divine component, but much of the plot has been veiled. In retrospect, one can see their powerful influence throughout eastern and western history, swaying world events, building up and bringing down kingdoms and dominions. Fortunately, Jewish historians have preserved a vast literature on their people's tumultuous history, and the bitter details are indispensable if we are to rightly understand the explosive tensions in the Middle East today.

Insightful to the Core!
Revisado: 01-19-15
I found this book to be highly insightful and felt that the authors treated the subject matter with utmost objectivity.
Furthermore, the fact that they approached the region's conflict from so many different angles certainly gave me the feeling that they left no stone unturned.

Simply Beautiful!
Revisado: 01-14-15
I got this book on a whim halfway expecting to be disappointed. Boy, was I wrong! You know the old saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover"? That applies doubly with this title.
Not only was the behind the scenes look into life for the 12 tribes - in captivity - insightful ...but the tenderness of God's love for His children was communicated so beautifully.
What an amazing book!

Just When You Thought It Couldnt Get Better
Revisado: 01-20-14
This second book was even better than the first, for this is the book where all of the pieces fell into place and end-result was nothing less than a true masterpiece.
This book will make you laugh, feel anxious, cry and praise God - all in one or two sittings!

Nothing I Would Change!
Revisado: 01-18-14
This book represents my introduction to the writings of Francine Rivers. To be sure there is absolutely nothing that I would change about A Voice in the Wind.
What's weird is that if you'd approached me even two or three months ago and asked if I'd ever advocate making such a long fictional narrative - I would have told you absolutely not.
However, part of the beauty of A Voice in the Wind is that the story is long enough that there was nothing in it that felt rushed. Everything that the characters' did or said seemed to happen precisely at the right time.
Another really cool aspect of this book is that it was so beautiful watching Hadassa grow into a mature believer. In fact, by the end of the story it was easy to see that she was every bit as strong a Christian as the believers that she frequently referenced when she was feeling down. Furthermore, the author was sure to always find ways to give God the glory for this maturation.
At the end of the day, I'd have to say that even if I was a non-believer this book would probably still be an all-time favorite on my list of top fictions.

Follow the epic journey of Enoch the giant killer with his small band of family warriors who seek outlaw giants for bounty, but stumble upon a conspiracy of the Watchers that is so evil, it will change the universe forever if God does not stop them. You’ll meet some of the beloved characters from Noah Primeval when they were much younger, like Methuselah and Uriel, as well as the origin stories of the lead Watchers, Semjaza and Azazel who became the gods Anu and Inanna.

Unrivaled in Nearly Every Way!
Revisado: 12-19-13
This book caught me off guard with its creativity and depth. Furthermore, that Godawa was able to manage this while somehow preserving the integrity of the Bible is absolutely astounding.
On a side note, I got a chuckle out of the way that Godawa inserted current event related themes into this ancient story - on the one hand these references seemed so random...Yet, tying them to the older narrative provided an added level of context that helps bring clarity to some of the things that we see going on in the world today.
Highly satisfied with this book, will definitely be looking forward to more from Godawa!

The Gold Standard of Christian Thrillers!!!
Revisado: 10-29-13
Just when I thought I'd read it all, when it comes to spiritual warfare works of fiction, I read Frank Peretti's "This Present Darkness". What's funny is that I flirted with the idea for three months before finally wagering my Audible credit for this book.
And boy..was it worth it! Sure, the narration could have been better. But you know what? With a story this intense, you get so lost in the characters and plots that you almost don't even notice the recording flaws. In fact, there were times when I felt I was right there among the characters as the theme unfolded.
The only qualm I have with Frank Peretti's master piece, is that he may have set the bar so high with this one that folksmay find it hard to read other spiritual thrillers without wishing that those books were more like This Present Darkness.
One more thing...I was shocked to learn that this book was written way back in 1986. So prophetic...except in most cases; today's college towns have been thoroughly over run by modern day Langstrat's, Brumel's and Oliver Young's.

Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status...and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence and embraced instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, Well Done!
Revisado: 06-13-13
Through " Son of Hamas" Mosab Hassan Yousef has achieved something that I'd previously viewed as nearly impossible. That is to say this book has given me an amazing degree of insight into what is happening in the Middle East.
That is not to say that reading this book will make you a scholar on the conflict in the Middle East, but if you're like me it will certainly ratchet your understanding of the situation up by at least several notches.
Not only that but the fact that Mr. Yousef so openly shared his Christian faith (and conversion) with the world speaks volumes about this man's courage and conviction. As someone who attempts to walk the same Christian path, myself, I was moved by Youseff's testimony - even to tears.
That being said this is an amazing book on so many levels.
