A true western tale with a fun premise

I loved the setting, and the narration puts you right there in the action, this is an excellent first installment of a series that not only is a self contained story but promises even more mysteries and twists with the power system. At first it might seem that the fantasy element is just a superficial spice but by the end I hope you too will be intrigued to learn more about the unique premise the fantasy element can bring to this western story

The mystery is slowly being pulled back, with another amazing performance from Jeff Hays and his two guest readers also bringing their A game, this book really comes to life. The were a few parts that made me laugh out loud but above all this was a way more serious book, I can’t wait to see where this series ends

A modern tragedy that still manages to tug at your heartstrings

The performances from the main cast are top level, and the story itself is compelling and emotional, the cast is a little bloated but it can be excused by the amazing performance every voice actor brings to the table

Probably for X-Files fans only

As an X-Files fan I had high hopes for this book....however this was honestly a struggle to get through. First,the narrator has this sing song rhythmic way of saying each sentence that drove me to drop the book for a couple of weeks three separate times. Second, the book got bogged down in internal dialog a few times that really brought the pace to a halt - especially when Scully is experiencing her “vision” with Sunlight. There a LONG stretch of description of colors and shapes etc. I stopped halfway through and didn’t pick it up til the next day.
The story did pick up in the last third and was MUCH better from then on.

Exciting story telling! Highly recommended

This audio book took me right back to the TV show. It was very well done with great acting and full sound effects. It was so enthralling I finished it in a day.
