Historia
Seventeen-year-old Çaglar is just another apathetic teenager - except when it comes to his sister, Çigdem, who he believes is the world's most beautiful and brilliant nine-year-old. Determined to display her genius, Çaglar grooms Çigdem's talent into a perfect Michael Jackson impersonation and pursues a sure route to fame: YouTube. Tragically, Çaglar's efforts are sabotaged by a little incident internationally known as the Taksim riots.

Gave up on this one

What disappointed you about The King of Taksim Square?
The narration was okay, but I just could not get into this book. The writing is stilted (maybe that is a result of the translation), but it often felt like adjectives were being used in lieu of storytelling. I tired quickly of hearing the uncle called an idiot, and I had no love for the sister, who seemed like a brat.

Great concept, Too much torture
Revisado: 05-01-16
What did you love best about The Water Knife?
As someone who has lived in the desert drought for most of my life, the plot of this near-future story hit home and felt entirely plausible. The characters were well-developed and believable, and I was surprised to find myself rooting for the main character, who started out as unlikable.
Any additional comments?
There were a few too many detailed descriptions of torture for my taste, and I found myself skimming past those sections.

In the year 2045, reality is an ugly place. The only time Wade Watts really feels alive is when he’s jacked into the OASIS, a vast virtual world where most of humanity spends their days. When the eccentric creator of the OASIS dies, he leaves behind a series of fiendish puzzles, based on his obsession with the pop culture of decades past. Whoever is first to solve them will inherit his vast fortune—and control of the OASIS itself.

Thoroughly enjoyable, fast-paced, and well perform

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
The references are entertaining, although I did tend to skim the bits of exposition that described the minutia of how to play the old Atari games (spent plenty of hours figuring that out myself as a kid). There were a few places where the plot seemed to move along thanks to unlikely help from the Omnipotent Author, but overall, I enjoyed the story, the pacing was quick and fun, and there were plenty of Easter eggs for me to enjoy along the ride.
Would you recommend Ready Player One to your friends? Why or why not?
This is a fun book, well-read by Wil Wheaton, who does a great job performing the different characters and keeps the pacing appropriate for the action.
