Historia
On the world called Hyperion, beyond the law of the Hegemony of Man, there waits the creature called the Shrike. There are those who worship it. There are those who fear it. And there are those who have vowed to destroy it. In the Valley of the Time Tombs, where huge, brooding structures move backward through time, the Shrike waits for them all.

All paths lead to Hyperion
Revisado: 12-21-21
Really enjoyed the story having an over arching world story on top of having each individual tell thier own story. All the cast is voiced and has a different enough voices that you can tell them a part. its hard to say which individual story I liked the most they each had thier own twists and turns. all of them helped to build the image of what you expected this world to be. they do a good job at feeling seperate but helping to add details that can provide context to events or items refrenced in past or future stories. Overall a must own for sci fi readers/listeners

Historia
The war raged across the galaxy. Billions had died, billions more were doomed. Moons, planets, the very stars themselves, faced destruction, cold-blooded, brutal, and worse, random. The Idirans fought for their Faith; the Culture for its moral right to exist. Principles were at stake. There could be no surrender. Within the cosmic conflict, an individual crusade. Deep within a fabled labyrinth on a barren world, a Planet of the Dead proscribed to mortals, lay a fugitive Mind. Both the Culture and the Idirans sought it....

Some really good Sci fi novel
Revisado: 07-16-20
Really well done book about a super advanced society and how they deal with thier first war in centuries. Its told from the perspective of some regular people from different perspectives of the conflict. the main character is a changling who hates the culture society and we follow him threw his mission. the overall audio book is very well narrated all the characters are easily identified from thier voice. I only had an issue with the last few chapters where the main csdt seems to forget a lot of what they know for convenience to the story.

Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

Final Book. in the Dune Saga
Revisado: 07-02-20
Great finish to the Dune Saga. The voice work is solid although mostly done by the narrator he does a great job at fleshing them out. it does a great job at closing the story but leaving it open enough for you to wonder for the future. Puts characters and ideals into situations that allow you to see them in new light. Has some great character development in the new cast. Its the only book to bring up ideals that showcase its age but not as glaringly like a lovecraftian book. Cant wait to see the 2 movies of the first book coming over the next few years.

Historia
The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered, and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone. But for the children of Dune, the very blossoming of their land contains the seeds of its own destruction. The altered climate is destroying the giant sandworms, and this in turn is disastrous for the planet's economy.

The Spice must flow
Revisado: 06-10-20
its the 3rd mainline dune book. It follows up the second book time skipping a bit to when paul's children have reached adolescents. It mostly follows Leto II but also focuses on his sister, duncan idaho, and Alia mainly. it deals a lot with how Leto and the other characyers deal with managing the people and themselves after his father, who is seen as a god, passes. Overall i enjoyed it more than Dune Messiah but theres a lot more going on in this book. The voice work is solid although they dont give characters there own voice as much as the last books.

Historia
The second Dune installment explores new developments on the planet Arrakis, with its intricate social order and strange, threatening environment. Dune Messiah picks up the story of the man known as Muad'Dib, heir to a power unimaginable, bringing to fruition an ambition of unparalleled scale: the centuries-old scheme to create a superbeing who reigns not in the heavens but among men. But the question is: DO all paths of glory lead to the grave?

Dune Messiah
Revisado: 05-07-20
Its the second book in the original Frank Herbert dune series. While much shorter than the first book it still very well done and packed with events that start about 12 years after paul taking the throne. the narroration is more consistant in this book and characters are often voiced by there VA this time around. I cant wait to start Children of dune next.

Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Great sci fi book
Revisado: 04-27-20
its a really good sci fi book done with some solid narrorating and voice work. they do start to use the voices less and less as the book goes on but the narrator does a great job so i didnt see much of a problem with that.
