Historia
After Steve Jobs was unceremoniously dismissed from Apple, he turned his attention to a little-known graphics art company that he owned called Pixar. One day, out of the blue, Jobs called Lawrence Levy, a Harvard-trained lawyer and Silicon Valley executive to whom he had never spoken before, in the hope of persuading Levy to help him get Pixar on the right track. What Levy found in Pixar was a company on the verge of failure. To Pixar and Beyond is the extraordinary story of what happened next.

Inspirational and Informative
Revisado: 08-06-19
I loved this book because of the look at Pixar’s history and because of the inspiration I felt listening to a company change the norm and become a success. I highly recommend it.

Unique historical fiction
Revisado: 02-07-19
I love historical fiction and was thrilled to find a story about a unique historical event. I'd never thought much about the invention of the submarine. This book opened my eyes to the events that transpired around its invention in a very entertaining way. From my fact-checking after I listened to the book, it appears most of the events are portrayed accurately. Connecting with the characters was easy and fun.
This book is appropriate for middle-grade readers and up.

Enjoyable read with heartwarming ending
Revisado: 12-18-18
I loved how the author developed the characters in this book. From the youngest child to each of the neighbors, each one was distinctly writing and fleshed out. I liked that the children weren't dumbed down. The ending was very touching and heartwarming.

Now I feel like a horse racing fan
Revisado: 05-09-18
I really enjoyed learning about horse racing while listening to this book. The performance was engaging and the storyline intriguing. I can see myself being more aware of horse racing in the future because of what I learned. There is some language (2 f bombs plus the other swear words) as well as a brief, descriptive education on horse breeding at the beginning that made me not want to listen to it with my kids around, but I couldn’t wait to finish it.

Only this maddeningly elusive figure defied the vast network of fanatics, informers, and secret agents that the Revolution spread out to catch its enemies.

Heroism at its finest
Revisado: 04-13-18
What a fun, exciting story! It truly is what I’d heard when I saw the play, “The beginning of the masked superhero genre.” Some minor swear words and the descriptions of the evil actions of those in France may make it less suitable for younger ears, but younger teens and up should love it.

Some fun stories but slow
Revisado: 03-07-18
I’ve always loved the story of Robin Hood and was excited to listen to the book. Although there are some fun stories, it was slow and I don’t think my kids would’ve enjoyed listening to it. Some of the songs sung lasted for several minutes even on a faster speed and didn’t add to the story. They would have, however, laughed at the old English descriptions of the donkeys and idiots.

A Thoroughly Thrilling Read
Revisado: 01-16-18
I don't normally select spooky stories but listened to the Graveyard Book as part of a middle-grade book club. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Neil Gaiman masterfully wove all aspects of the undead and the afterlife into his story. His voice was perfect in the narration and added to the spookiness. Although it was selected as a middle-grade read, I would recommend it for upper-middle-grade due to the references to violence and other chilling situations.
