I wanted to like "Wild"; however, many of the ideas presented in the novel, while intriguing, are unrealistic. The notion that our world and its billions of people could rely entirely on wild sources and roadkill for sustenance is hard to believe.

The novel offers interesting liberal environmental ideas, but I often found myself skipping through it because I kept dozing off. I didn't feel invested in the story, and Matthew Josdal's average narration didn't enhance the experience.

The Wizard's Butler is a heartwarming novel that captured my attention from the very beginning. The story's pacing was steady, and the characters were interesting and well-developed. I was particularly intrigued by the Wizards world and look forward to learning more about it. My only complaint would be the frequent use of certain phrases, such as "sir" and "ma'am." Tom Taylorson's narration greatly enhanced the entertainment value of the book.

Overall, Paper Wife was okay. The novel was a character-driven story with little intensity. The narrative dragged on in places, and I couldn't" wrap my mind around" why the main protagonist seemed to care more about an orphaned girl than her own child. Furthermore, I did not understand why the narrator mumbled whenever an actual English-speaking person spoke because it distracted me from the story and didn't seem necessary.

I enjoyed "The Last Flight," even though it is a classic story about a woman escaping an abusive situation. The plot was easy to follow, though it felt a bit predictable at times, and the ending twist wasn't particularly shocking. I usually don't like dual narratives, but I found it easy to keep track of the timelines. Clare's character could sometimes be whiny, while Eve often appeared apathetic. However, the novel held my attention, and I genuinely cared about both women's lives. Khristine Hvam and Lauren Fortgang were excellent narrators but their voices were very similar, and I didn't realize they were two different women until I reviewed the book in my library.

I enjoyed "James"; although, it wasn't as brilliant as the hype suggested. The opening chapters were filled with confusing poetry, and the story didn't truly begin until nearly ten minutes in. Once the tale got underway, the plot was intriguing and easy to follow. Historically I believe that "James" is a superior work compared to "Huckleberry Finn." James' experiences as a Black man during the Civil War years in America reflect a significant perspective of the era that Huckleberry Finn only hints at. However, I have questions about several plot points regarding James's confrontations with white characters.

"The Ride of Her Life" is a slow-paced story with minimal action. It follows a mature woman as she journeys across the USA in the mid-fifties, accompanied by her beloved pets. Along the way, she encounters many interesting people who assist her, but the most memorable characters are the animals, particularly the horse named Tarzan. Tavia Gilbert delivers a satisfactory performance as the narrator.

"Falling Wisteria" continues the Yellow Crocus series. While I found Bahni Turpin's narration enjoyable, I felt that the novel was mediocre. This may partially be due to my fatigue with the series. Additionally, the book's themes often reflect contemporary ideologies, which do not align with the historical context of the narrative.

I'm a big fan of the Thula Thula Game Preserve Series. Francoise Malby-Anthony and her staff’s conservation efforts offer a profound perspective that is simultaneously rewarding and heartbreaking. The struggles they face protecting wildlife are endlessly fascinating. Nevertheless, the recurring theme in this fourth installment didn't engage me as much as the previous books did. Roshina Ratnam's narration remains outstanding, and her pronunciations of words like "zebra" and "giraffe" are particularly delightful.
