The auther and editor beat you to death with their political stances. Not recommended at all.

Reads like young adult fiction. Around 14 years old. The only exception is when the author makes overly politically correct statements. Also, lots of pejoratives directed toward Christianity and Caucasians.

This book has an excellent setting and premise, but fails to deliver. It feels like someone wrote an excellent, romping adventure story, then some editor came in and forced 40% of the content to be examinations of feelings, and then sprinkled in some random quasi-homoerotic, quasi-pedophelic sex scenes to be compliant with some random agenda.

This is a cookie-cutter book. You've heard this story 100 times. This one just has different names and settings.

If you enjoy having 16 hours of modern day political messages rammed down your throat camouflaged as a mediocre training montage book spoken with a horribly thick accent, this is for you.

If you're of a certain political party, you will not enjoy this book. Additionally, I found it boring, besides.

I bought this just to spite all the woke people complaining about lack of feminism, but it actually is just a horribly dull and boring book, and so is book two. Literally, nothing happens. It's just some kid's boring life brewing coffee on navy duty. No wars. No attacks. No crisis. No struggle. No growth. Just... doing mundane day-to-day stuff.

At this point, I've lost interest

This series started out at a great clip with interesting concepts, but at this point I've just lost all interest. The story is far too meandering. It honestly should have been a trilogy and been over with by now. The protagonist has also slowly morphed over time from an every-day Joe, in to what is now a smarmy caricature. All I can see him doing at this point is wearing a black turtleneck inside a San Francisco coffee shop telling everyone about his social virtues.

I enjoyed this unique story. I couldn't help but notice the recurring, bizarrely-feminist slant on the story, however, which came off as just odd.

All "feelings" and no content. The entire book takes place in two rooms and consists 90% of whatever feelings are in the protagonist's head. Not a single sentence of humor or tactics. The other characters are all one dimensional and exchangeable. Overall, this reads like a fan fiction romance novel, only without graphic sex.
