Historia
Joe Spork repairs clocks, a far cry from his late father, a flashy London gangster. But when Joe fixes one particularly unusual device, his life is suddenly upended. Joe's client, Edie Banister, is more than just a kindly old lady - she's a former superspy. And the device? It's a 1950s doomsday machine. Worst read ever!
Revisado: 10-24-15
After listening to the first half, if there was a plot it was well hidden from me. The narration was hypnotically monotone leading one to extreme boredom and thence to sleep. At the three quarter mark I surrendered what little interest I thought I had and withdrew from attempting to finish hearing the end of the drivel. Audible presents a variety of selections, ranging from the very best and latest down to the "don't even think of ordering this one"! Angelmaker fits somewhere well below the list.

Historia
Unlike most other World War II accounts, this work covers the South Pacific operations in detail. The audiobook includes many now-forgotten operations that deserve to be well remembered. Significantly, the official Australian history of World War II correctly observed that Australia's part in the Pacific war is barely mentioned in American histories. This volume finally brings the major Australian contribution to the fore.

Dry and monotonus, a collection of unit histories falling far short of its hype. Names and battles grew monotonus.

Historia
The Civil War: A Narrative, Volume 1 begins one of the most remarkable works of history ever fashioned. All the great battles are here, of course, from Bull Run through Shiloh, the Seven Days Battles, and Antietam, but so are the smaller ones: Ball's Bluff, Fort Donelson, Pea Ridge, Island Ten, New Orleans, and Monitor versus Merrimac.

OUTSTANDING! I'M PROUD TO BE A BLACK AMERICAN!!
- De The Louligan en 08-22-13
Totally Engrossing
Revisado: 02-13-12
Would you consider the audio edition of The Civil War to be better than the print version?
Absolutely! I'm sure that the nuance of emotions could not rise off the printed page as well.
What did you like best about this story?
As a West Point graduate, I was educated deeply in the strategy and tactics involved in the war. What was not taught were the aspects of the personal idiosyncracies of the major personnel; the impacts on the civilian population nor the political interactions. This history filled in all the cracks.
Have you listened to any of Grover Gardner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
N/A
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Every moment was a garden of delight.
Any additional comments?
As this is a huge file, be prepared to sacrifice shelf space.

Dropped from cliche heaven, most bombs missed.
Revisado: 01-30-12
Just a snicker above boring. Passable as a testimonial to his old friend George but otherwise wouldn't inspire a B rated war movie.
