Great story - kept me listening every chance I got

When I first downloaded the story, I thought 30ish hours would take me a couple weeks to finish. It only took me 4 days, I was that enthralled. An awesome surprise ending that I didn't see coming left me wishing it wouldn't end. Well worth the credit!

Normally I'm a fan of JR Ward and the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Decided to give this a try but found the characters to be just OK. Didn't really get invested in any of them. The narrator's voice was annoying when acting the female characters parts, making them all sound like whiners.

I didn't think I would like it as much at first but I got really engaged with it and looked forward to listening every chance I got. I was disappointed the story had to end.

I've read and listened to many Sandra Brown books. This is one that I could un-listen too. The dialog was trite and the whole overall story was forced. It seems that this is one of her first tries. There are many other Sandra Brown novels that are much better. Give Envy, Richoette, The Alibi or Chill Factor a try. Those are well worth the credit. This story isn't.

I thought I would give a new romance genre a try and was thinking that this would be a good try. Where I imagined listening to a "Dances with Wolves" type story, I'm getting a dismal 1950's TV plot script. The writing of the story is full of trite phrasing (ex... "oh my darling")and the characters are so one dimensional that I'm finding I don't really care about any of them.
I'm going to finish listening to the story only because I'm stubborn and finish what I start. But I'm feeling like it is a chore. Don't waste your credit!
