Invaluable reacource

Tonie does a masterful job of explaining in an honest and detailed way how devastating a divorce can be. Using research from the Gottman Institute as well as her own anecdotal stories, Tonie explains the three options one has as the subject of divorce is brought up. Her faith based approach has merit as well as wisdom. I’m so glad I have chosen to save my marriage and implement the tools Tonie gives to help
My marriage endure the rest of time.

Historia
When it comes to the “hard seasons” of life—the death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a job—transformation seems impossible when grief and uncertainty dominate your days. Especially when, as Didn’t See that Coming reveals, no one asks to have their future completely rearranged for them. But, as Rachel Hollis writes, it is up to you how you come through your pain—you can come through changed for the better, having learned and grown, or stuck in place where your identity becomes rooted in what hurt you.

So many conflicting emotions
Revisado: 02-03-21
I’ll be honest, I started listening to this book after listening to the rise together podcast with my wife for what seemed like many years. All too quickly, my favorite “celebrity“ couple was divorcing and I wanted to know more. After listening to Rachels deeply emotional play to start living today, I have a desire to strike hard for the things that are important. I love deeply, and to no true love is worth the risk. Thank you Rachel for this reminder.

Historia
Every day we experience the uncertainty, risks, and emotional exposure that define what it means to be vulnerable or to dare greatly. Based on 12 years of pioneering research, Dr. Brené Brown dispels the cultural myth that vulnerability is weakness and argues that it is, in truth, our most accurate measure of courage. Brown explains how vulnerability is both the core of difficult emotions like fear, grief, and disappointment, and the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, empathy, innovation, and creativity.

Powerful and inspired

I absolutely love when authors read their own books. Brené is a master storyteller and such an inspiration to not stay stagnant, but keep pushing towards greatness!

Historia
Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

F*cking Brilliant
Revisado: 08-22-19
Every story, every laugh, every curse word I resonated with. Matt Best tells the story of our war the way only a knuckle dragger can. His time overseas and the transition to civilian life were especially relatable. His voice was that of silk and the words brought me to a full, engorged erection.
