It’s different

Definitely a departure from the writers normal storytelling style, but it feels like it’s in the same universe and it’s good enough for me to want to read again. I like it.

A psychological thrill

Most JD Robb books, feel like they’re written to a formula. This one felt like a good deviation. I have read it twice and still feel like there’s part of a mystery that has a link in the chain. I didn’t see. Very well done. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller.

It kept me awake… Not what you're thinking.

The narrator did very well. The story… Not so much. It was interesting, funny, but not necessarily what I expected. Kind of like space balls… But with insurance.

An easy read.

Would you consider the audio edition of On the Imperium's Secret Service to be better than the print version?
Definitely. I have a long commute, and this audio book made it feel so much shorter.
Who was your favorite character and why?
My favorite character was Mariko. She knew her limitations, gave her all, and usually didnt' let emotion get the best of her.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
For the most part, the book made me laugh.
Any additional comments?
I've read the book twice since I bought it. Its just that good.

Imagine a drama mixed with suspense; throw in a splash of action and a main character that looks good in a skirt and you have this novel. Jennifer Government makes you wonder who done it, and how did he do that. In addition, you will want to share this book with friends and family, but I highly recommend you tell them to buy their own, as you will never want to give up your copy. This book is a modern day classic and Max Berry deserves all the accolades we can give him.

This woman has a hit here, and for those who are of privilege, who have no concept of what life is like for the disadvantaged, get a grip on reality. You’ll need it.
