I listen to one chapter a week. I light a candle and think PY is with me. I am a Christian but don't worry about dogma and theology. if PY is one with God, that is suffice with me. I tend to believe Christ is the Supreme being and His Son, but if Jeus is an avatar and One with God, that is fine also. Being ONE with God is pragmaticlly the same for me. PY is a guru but I just call him an angel. Doesn't matter.

Insightful

I bought the paperback copy as the recording was so insightful. This book is a resource for those of us who have acknowledge of the high leveled scriptures of India. Mr. Viljoen provides background of culture and other Hindu Scriptures which fill in the gaps and allow the reader to have a stronger background (schemata) to then go back and read THE BHAGAVAD GITA with deeper spiritual application or insight for spiritual growth. I will finish the recording and then take notes on the paperback book. This author is a minister in the Center for Spiritual Living. (Religious Science?) This book added credibility to his new thought denomination as I have brushed their teachings and visited the churches and taken classes. These people seem to be more sincere than I first was skeptical of with their marketing approach to events and studies--however, as a Christian, I see this group as having a deeper merit. Anyway, this book will offer the foundation effectively for a person who wants to internalize the essence of the Indian Scriptures of THE BHAGAVAD GITA or Celestial Song. Pastor David had the author speak in San Jose at the CSL and it must have been a good lecture.

One of those parents who kept this custom particularly alive and meaningful was Dr. Jess Lyman Hurlbut. Like many great works of literature, the stories that make up this book were told and retold innumerable times before being set down on paper.

Best Novel Version of the Bible Cover to Cover

This book can help many understand the Old Testament and then the New Testament. Jesse Hurbutt is very sensitive and leaves in geographical names and personal names of importance. As an adult I read the passage in Hurlbutt's and then read the passage in the Bible. I am a certified reading specialist and this helps one comprehend the Bible, causing one to focus on major movements in the Bible. Some passages are left out. As you know Genesis 34 and 38 take a break from the story of Joseph. They are left out. So this isn't a catch all, but a great tool to understand the Bible.
