Historia
Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Summoned into this chaotic place, a young boy with no name and no past must learn to survive. Bound to a master who doesn't care whether he lives or dies, he must become stronger. The question is: how?

development of character
Revisado: 02-21-24
I enjoyed the way the character's development was made believable by its origin. The frustrating lags that occur from normal human development were delightfully highlighted by supporting characters, yet they achieved growth as well. the story is well balanced.

I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. It's always fun to let go and see where a story takes me. The ridiculousness allows my critic to just smile and enjoy.

Historia
Meet Threadbare. He is 12 inches tall, full of fluff, and really, really bad at being a hero. Magically animated and discarded by his maker as a failed experiment, he is saved by a little girl. But she's got problems of her own, and he might not be able to help her. Fortunately for the little golem, he's quick to find allies, learn skills, gain levels, and survive horrible predicaments. Which is good, because his creator has a whole lot of enemies …

Levels of Adorable. Amazing find. I entered with low expectations having just finished a series that I really enjoyed. I found myself engaged and involved immediately, able to suspend my propensity to "figure out" what comes next and enjoy the ride. I hope you take a chance and find yourself entertained. :-)

Historia
Miracle Springs is a place of healing. Strangers flock there hoping that the natural hot springs, five-star cuisine, and renowned spa can cure their ills. And, if none of that works, they often find their way to Miracle Books, where, over a fresh-baked scone from the Gingerbread House bakery, they exchange their stories with owner Nora Pennington in return for a carefully chosen book. That's Nora's special talent: prescribing the perfect novel to ease a person's deepest pain and lighten their heaviest burden.

dottle
Revisado: 05-09-18
The story meandered all over the place. The plot was so thin you couldn't see it in direct light, the "romance" was weak. I liked some of the charactors, but they got lost in the over log attempt at "Female bonding"
The "book lover" seemed fixaded almost entirely on YA ..
I could go on. Honeslty the only thing I truly enjoyed here was the narrator who kept me listening and hoping this mess of a story would resolve itself.

lush and quietly spooky

What did you love best about Himself?
The beautiful story telling. The way things are described in rich through depth. Lingering deliciously over descriptions I can wallow in the world created.
Any additional comments?
I honestly wish there were more books by this writer. I'm not even finished and I went to find more by this writer because I adored the use of language so throughly.

Historia
Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson ( Pulp Fiction) rocks this mock bedtime story, capturing a hilarious range of emotions as the voice of a father struggling to get his child to sleep. Go the F**k to Sleep is a bedtime book for parents who live in the real world, where a few snoozing kitties and cutesy rhymes don’t always send a toddler sailing blissfully off to dreamland.
