Historia
As an A&R man at Epic Records, Tom Werman helped introduce the world to REO Speedwagon, Boston, Ted Nugent, and Cheap Trick; he also discovered KISS, Rush, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, but his record label passed on all of them. Then, as an independent producer, he oversaw landmark albums by Mötley Crüe, Twisted Sister, Lita Ford, Jeff Beck, Poison, and many more. All in all, his record-making resume includes twenty-three gold- or platinum-selling albums and cumulative sales of more than fifty-two million copies.

TW was a legend and has a cool, entertaining, story to tell. He spends too much time complaining and feuding.

Historia
Musician, actor, activist, and the iconic face of New York City cool, Debbie Harry is the front woman of Blondie, a band that forged a new sound that brought together the worlds of rock, punk, disco, reggae, and hip-hop to create some of the most beloved pop songs of all time. As a muse, she collaborated with some of the boldest artists of the past four decades. The scope of Debbie Harry’s impact on our culture has been matched only by her reticence to reveal her rich inner life - until now.

Nobody Tells The Whole Truth About Themself
Revisado: 02-01-24
This would serve as an excellent companion to an unauthorized biography of Debbie Harry's life and work. Blithely glossing over years of heroin and cocaine addiction as just one example--Chris Stein's "recovering" in a private hospital room while Debbie's out each day copping "H" for him. (How did that slip by the medical staff, by the way?) And other enormous omissions--make for a sort of poetic take on a punk rock life lived with gusto. Perhaps due to her editor's suggestion, she disclaims all these fibs in the final paragraphs, "I didn't tell you EVERYTHING. Who would?!"
This leaves the listener wondering what actually happened in this artist's tumultuous life. Between the lines, if you will.
Debbie Harry's amazing East Coast drawl, though, is what makes this a gem. I recommend it highly to any casual punk rock historian. Just don't expect to come away knowing anything for sure. It's a good read.

Historia
In They Just Seem a Little Weird, veteran entertainment journalist Doug Brod offers an eye- and ear-opening look at a crucial moment in music history, when rock became fun again and a gig became a show. This is the story of friends and frenemies who rose, fell, and soared once more, often sharing stages, studios, producers, engineers, managers, agents, roadies, and fans-and who are still collaborating more than 40 years on.

Surprising Editing Errors In Narration
Revisado: 09-29-22
Nobody is likely to claim this is a great book--but it does help fill in informational gaps for avid fans. I've never heard editing mistakes like this on ANY audible title. It's almost like nobody paid attention after Chapter 20. Repeated phrases and false starts left in the final product. I counted at least six obvious errors, and one clipped word uncorrected. Stuart has a good voice for this content, though.
And the elephant in the room: Starz?!
