A release of an older Donald Bain book in the series, thank goodness

Nice to listen to, but story is pretty weak.
Revisado: 03-07-22
The mystery is really dragged out and then wraps up with few details. The author also doesn't seem to be familiar with anyone's backstory as Mort seems to be a small-town man from Maine instead of former NYPD, so that's really off-putting. But except for Mort and his complete lack of NY accent, the other performances are pretty good!

Historia
Based on the ingenious Sir Michael Twitter account, How to (Almost) Make Friends on the Internet is the funniest audiobook you'll listen to this year. Whether it's offering his services as a karate lawyer or funeral DJ, devising the world's worst plan to get a free haircut, or trying to buy a blue bucket that may or may not be for sale, Michael just wants to connect with people. The only problem is that people are slightly less enthusiastic about connecting with him, and the results are utterly hilarious.

Wouldn't recommend for audiobook
Revisado: 06-11-21
I didn't realize it's mostly reproductions of what Sir Michael has already posted online, so I don't think audiobook is the best format to read this one. A lot of time is spent describing images or bleeping out what is normally blacked out. Hilar, though.

Even better than reading the book.
Revisado: 02-21-19
I really liked this book when it came out in hardback, but listening to Allison and Gabby read it out really enhances the experience. It's very engaging, not only for fans of JBU and not only for fans of epistolary novels, but for anyone who enjoys a well-written and hilarious coming-of-age story (even though I hate that term). My only quibble is with how the "hahaha"s are performed by both; it sounds sort of pained every time. Highly recommend!
