Very interesting and useful

I really liked this book. I like it so much, I want to listen to it again….except…I cannot abide the voice of the reader. The female voice performer sounds like a bad impression of Siri. She over enunciates and draws out words in very strange places. She sounds inauthentic which is particularly poor for a book all about detecting deception. If this performer speaks like this in her everyday life, I would avoid her. I would not be able to trust her.

When we conjure up the idea of the devil and the demonic hordes in our mind, we are often thinking in the context of how Christianity has portrayed them. The devil and his supposed horns, the Exorcist’s battle with the demon possessed, the inverted cross, the Osculum infame (The Infamous kiss) or the Black Mass in which a young woman is sacrificed to Satan. All these are mostly influenced by Christian ideas in some way or another. The Prominence of Christianity in the study of demonology cannot be denied.

Everyone interested in the occult should be familiar with Baal Kadmon. This was the most straightforward and practical book I’ve ever found

This author seems to think very little of women. Of the many instances of subtle contempt was his gross misunderstanding of rape. People do not define their “I” by their sexual organs, rape is horrific because it is about being completely possessed by another. It is ultimate objectification and utter helplessness. It has nothing to do with sex.
There was also subtle admiration for the serial killers he was categorizing. This made the book difficult to get through, not in a challenging sort of way that pushes your knowledge base; but in a sleazy “there’s something wrong with this person” kind of way. I must remember this author so I never choose another title by him again.
