Enjoyed this book as it was one of the first I listened to about a membership economy. I thought it provided some good background and rationale as to why we are moving to a membership approach. Am torn with how I feel with this book

I am torn with how I feel about this book. I watched Verne a lot on his sports broadcasts and like him a lot. This book is about his life and rise in the broadcast business, along with some stories along the way. I think I was expecting and wanting more behind the scenes stories from college football, golf, etc. so I think my rating and review of this book is skewed because of that. For whatever reason I expected something this book wasn’t, so i felt a little disappointed. But I am to have listened to this book and learn more about Verne. #Sports #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes

The mission/story of the audible original is great — giving vets with PTSD an outlet to heal, get better, and eat with their situation. The veterans in this original were amazing. While their stories were great and the mission of this book great, I was expecting to hear more of the veterans act and jokes. I appreciate and liked the author taking the time to narrate this book. I felt like it added to the experience. I grew up watching ESPN and, as things in the book started to reveal themselves, I could picture those things in my mind and it helped me understand more about ESPN and the brand.

I think this book would be good for anyone that likes sports. It felt like I blend of the business/management side, entertainment side, and I think more importantly the personal/relationship/culture side of ESPN which I enjoyed very much.

I feel like sometimes audio books are hit or miss. The story could be great but the narration puts you to sleep. Or whatever it may be. But I think this book was a good blend of story, narration, and length. I felt good early on that I made a good decision purchasing this book. I didn’t regret it. #Tagsgiving #Sweepstakes
