Spooky and wonderful voice acting!
Revisado: 08-27-24
This was mine and my husband’s roadtrip audiobook for the past few years and we loved it! It was perfectly spooky to listen to while driving around the foggy, PNW (a long ways from Perdido to be sure, but it worked anyway). The characters are so real and full of life, we really enjoyed them. Our favorites were Mary Love, Sister, Oscar & of course the complicated and enigmatic Elinor.

Not For Me
Revisado: 11-20-23
I really liked the author’s Amy Byler book so I thought I’d try another, but I just couldn’t get into this one. I might still keep trying, I’m almost half way through, but I also might just return it and get my credit back. There are some important topics covered in the book as others have mentioned (mental health, grief and loss, dysfunctional mother-daughter relationships, etc.) which I like. However, I really can’t stand Mia. She’s so self absorbed, so shallow, and so inauthentic I just cringe every time the narration switches to her perspective. I literally want to bang my head against the wall when she’s talking. Paige is also annoying in her own way but I do enjoy her cynicism more than Mia’s fluffy, fake, inspirational quote way of talking. And overall, I just really don’t care about the story much. Like what’s the point?

Liked it, didn’t love it
Revisado: 07-06-23
This was a good story, but it’s not my favorite from the author. I think because of how the intro is set up it takes away from any surprise or suspense. I was easily able to see the path the story was going down and so there wasn’t as much excitement as there could be. Still enjoyable to listen to though!

Really Enjoyable Listen
Revisado: 06-23-23
The story line kept me hooked from beginning to end. It reminded me vaguely of Elinor from the Blackwater series. Rachel was quite irritating at times; so naive, I kept rolling my eyes at her. I think the title was a poor choice, it doesn’t quite fit the narrative. I also thought the ending could’ve been more fleshed out. All in all though it was a solid book!

So much fun to listen to!
Revisado: 05-13-23
I loved the Fear Street books as a teen and getting to re-experience them as an adult is just as fun. It brings back so many good memories of being curled up safe in my bed while I scared myself late into the night. I thought this story line was really good and actually one of the more believable ones. I had guessed who the killer was earlier on but I did have times I doubted my choice. Give it a listen and I’m sure you’ll have fun, too!

So much fun!
Revisado: 04-02-23
I really liked the plot of this story! I thought it was well paced, it kept me guessing, and it had a satisfying ending. The narrator took some time to grow on me but after a while I really enjoyed his style. It’s also full of classic, corny lines like Arnie always shouting “Bobby, you da man!”. Definitely brings on the 90s nostalgia!
