Historia
When a local man, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, goes missing, his parents have good reason to be concerned. Emily Willows is a friend of the family and says that she knows just the person to find him - and, as Summer Lane soon points out, the fact that this also fits in with Emily's plan to set up her very own detective agency is surely just a fortuitous coincidence.

Narrator with lisp ruined it
Revisado: 06-18-23
Second time I've run across this narrator and gave up listening because of her lisp. I'm too conscious of it to follow the story.

Historia
His name, they tell him, is William Monk, and he is a London police detective. But the accident that felled him has left him with only half a life; his memory and his entire past have vanished. As he tries to hide the truth, Monk returns to work and is assigned to investigate the brutal murder of a Crimean War hero and man about town. Which makes Monk’s efforts doubly difficult, since he’s forgotten his professional skills along with everything else.

Pull a face???
Revisado: 06-10-23
Too many times characters "pull a face." What? What does that even mean? Used when they were happy, sad, puzzled, in about 10 situations. Lazy writing IMO.

Horrid music
Revisado: 08-18-22
Almost gave up on this book because of the horrid, overly dramatic, jolting music that kicked in at the ending and beginning of each chapter. If I get another book with that, I'll return it.

Ruined by narrator
Revisado: 11-10-21
I had looked forward to this book but gave up on it because the narrator read it at panic speed. Very unpleasant listening.
