Darkness is not to be feared but to be experienced
Revisado: 11-25-20
Dave and Tim steer the ship of the unknown into the world of the unexplained and the unexplored with humor, candor, and a fascination for the events of the world that many others ignore or try to forget. They approach the paranormal and the anomalous with bravado. The hosts take the paranormal seriously without taking themselves seriously.

An Important Element of Carl Sagan's Legacy.
Revisado: 08-07-18
I was and still am a huge fan of the movie version of Contact. It remains one of my all-time favorite films. I have always been a fan of Carl Sagan. Until I saw Sagan's book on Audible, I had never had occasion to read his novel. I was absolutely riveted by the narrative and character development in Sagan's novel.
First, if you are afraid of being overwhelmed by the cosmological background of the story, fear not. While there is enough intellectual substance to satisfy fans of Carl Sagan's, it never detracts from the story which is, foremost, the story of a young woman on her journey through life. It is a character-driven narrative that invites us to indulge not only in our own beliefs about science, technology, religion, and sociology, but to consider carefully the beliefs of others. It brilliantly shows us where and how our beliefs are formed and the boundaries that challenge them. The story shows us that we are never as far from other's beliefs as we lead ourselves to believe.
The narration for this book is nearly flawless. Aside from some occasionally distracting accents, the narrator guides us through the novel with a steady tempo. I found myself at times feeling as though there should have more excitement surrounding the events within the book, but I ascribe that more to Sagan's writing style than the narrator's performance. Sagan never was an over-the-top personality. Nevertheless, her voice was warm and pleasing.
I highly recommend this book if you are a fan of Carl Sagan, science fiction, or intellectually stimulating novels.
